Quick Access to Bike Path & Downtown
Have the Best of Both: Quick Access to Downtown Brevard & Pisgah Forest.
Description
Enjoy our home, the Chestnut House. A great landing place to relax after enjoying time in the Land of Waterfalls. 🏃🏻1 mile to Downtown Heart of Brevard 🚲 Easy access to the Brevard Bike Path, 100 yards away. 🚲 2.5-3 miles to Pisgah Forest. 🚲 14 miles to DuPont. ⛰🏙 32 miles to Downtown Asheville ▪️Centrally located: Side walk walkable distance to restaurants, grocery, coffee, & pharmacy. 🌄 Modest mountain views from the front of the house ◼️FULLY FENCED YARD ▪️Home is NOT in the forest or remote The space Enjoy coming to our home, offering a relaxing and clutter-free environment for your getaway or time visiting friends and family in town. Wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch looking out to the distance over the homes and businesses and seeing the mountains of Pisgah National Forest. Don’t want to make coffee or breakfast? Walk from the house to nearby Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks to start your day. If not wanting a chain, I recommend riding/driving to downtown to support Cup and Saucer (1.9 mile drive/ 1.2 mile walk) or The Sunrise Cafe (1 mile drive/0.9 miles walk) or the Velvet Cup Coffee Cart outside The Hub at the entrance to Pisgah National Forest (2.4 miles driving/ 2.8 miles walk). After you start your morning, grab the river towels from the entry way closet on your way out to tube, fish, or play in the Pisgah Forest on Davidson River, any of the forks of the French broad, the more remote Cathey’s Creek, or the lakes and waterfalls in DuPont. Stow your gear (packs, fly vests, helmets, gloves, knee pads, etc) away in the entry way closet using the tubs provided to help keep your gear organized and out of the way until you’re ready to head out for fun! Brought your bike? Store your bikes in our backyard with a locked fence gate. You’ll find a tarp shed at the side with a rack for 3 bikes, but you can likely fit others to stay out of the rain. Don’t miss the opportunity to use the bike path down by Walgreens to easily get to downtown, the Lumber Arts District, Oskar Blues, or enjoy a short ride on the bike path from our house directly into Pisgah Forest to hit some trails. Our fave is Thrift to Lower Black! Whatever you choose to do during the day, come back and enjoy some time around the fire pit while enjoying time with friends or family with your drink of choice in the evening. Weather permitting, of course! Raining? No problem. We have some games in the coffee table. Also, cozy up on the couches with a blanket enjoy a show or movie on our 65” Roku Smart TV with accounts to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max (please use the Chestnut House account choices) and access to other apps with your log in. Other things to note This home is not nestled in the forest, but does have distanced mountain views from front windows of the home, possibly more views as the seasons change and leaves fall. You should not need any special vehicle to get into our driveway. But do use caution if driving a low clearance car. One side of our driveway is steep as it goes into the road and care must be taken to not “bottom out”. PETS We have started to allow pets to stay, specifically dogs (service animals always allowed, of course). Expectations we have that our own dogs are as follows: -dogs are to be house-trained -clean up waste from the backyard (poop scoop provided) -stay off furniture -if one of your pets is a puppy or gets incredibly anxious when you leave, we request they are crated when unattended. If you would like to bring an animal other than a dog, please let us know so we can see if we are the right fit for one another. Pet fee: $100 Covers additional cleaning, time and attention our cleaning team must have to assure the house is as clean as it hopefully was for you for the next guests. It
