Twizel Alps Retreat

This lovely popular two storey house is affordable, clean, comfortable, warm, family-friendly and spacious. It comes with free WiFi (fibre) and linen. We offer a flexible cancellation policy especially during lockdown. The house is situated on the quiet western side of town with breath taking views of the Ben Ohau ranges and surrounding mountains. It’s unique easy-living design makes it elegant yet homely. It has a large fully fenced back yard with a furnished patio area and a BBQ. The space The sunny kitchen flows through to the open plan large dining area and a spacious lounge capturing all day sun. The large comfortable dining room suite allows plenty of space for computer work, meals or relaxing in front of the fire. The downstairs bedroom is large and has a comfortable king size bed and an ensuite bathroom (toilet and shower). At the top of the stairs is an open plan bedroom with a double and single bed, leading into another spacious room with a comfortable queen bed. The upstairs spacious bathroom has a toilet, bath and shower. There is a functioning fireplace and two heat pumps to keep the house warm during winter, with extra blankets provided. The air-conditioning keeps the house cool during summer, with extra fans provided. The hot water is heated by gas and thus will not run out. The Twizel Market Place is a leisurely 10 minute walk or a 2 minute drive from the house with numerous restaurants, bars, grocery and convenience stores. The closest bistro is about a 5 minute walk from the house. It is the perfect base to explore the Mount Cook National Park, Tekapo, the fishing canals and the many lakes (Lake Ruataniwha, Lake Pukaki, Lake Ohau, Lake Benmore, Lake Tekapo and Lake Alexandrina) that surround this town. It also provides a great base to ride the Alps to Ocean cycle trail. Cleanliness is important to us, as you can see from our reviews, however during this COVID time we are taking extra care with cleaning and disinfecting, so you can expect to stay in a safe and clean home. Cleaning products are available for guests to use during their stay, so they have peace of mind. We are also regularly decluttering and spring-cleaning the house, making sure everything is clean. Guests are welcome to bring their own linen and bedding. All guest interaction is contactless, keys are kept in a lockbox for easy access and self-check-in.
