Bella Vista Private Resort is more than just a vacation rental and offers more than a hotel. It provides our guests with what Costa Rican luxury really feels like with the very best service provided by our staff. THE PROPERTY Our Costa Rican Mountaintop Resort features a main house with 5 gorgeous, resort-style bedrooms, 3.5 baths (with an extra pool bathroom), a fully-stocked kitchen, an infinity pool, outdoor eating area and BBQ, extensive grounds surrounded by a private gated entrance and a dedicated work space with the highest speed internet that Costa Rica has to offer. GUESTHOUSE ADDITION The 3 bedroom guesthouse on the property that sleeps 8 people can also available to you for additional guests for your group. Next to the guesthouse is a smaller pool that can be heated as a jacuzzi. If you would like to add the guesthouse, just send us a message to let us know and we will help you add the guest house to your reservation after your initial booking. TREEHOUSE ADDITION Our new treehouse addition sleeps 4 people and has incredible views and its own small Jacuzzi Pool. If you would like to add the treehouse, just send us a message to let us know and we will help you add the treehouse to your reservation after your initial booking. TINY HOUSE ADDITION The tiny house which we call the honeymoon suite and sleeps 2 people and also has incredible views. It has specialty made swings for 2 adult to remind you of childhood romance. Let us know if you would like to add the tiny house to your reservation and we will coordinate adding the tiny house for you. EVENTS We have had numerous weddings, family reunions, anniversary celebrations, yoga and corporate retreats held at Bella Vista Private Resort because of the size of the property and the beauty of the grounds. We are happy to work with you to make your event absolutely amazing and beautiful. Additionally we have added 4 pickleball courts in order to host pickleball retreats in paradise. OUR STAFF AND RESORT MANAGER Our on-site resort manager, Patricia, embodies the heart of Costa Rica with her warmth and hospitality. She is well connected in the area and can help you coordinate your activities, excursions, and events. She can also spoil you with authentic Costa Rican food daily at your request. We also have a humble grounds keeper to help keep the grounds beautiful throughout the year. He often picks fresh fruit or coconuts for our guests during their stay. AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION If you are interested in airport transportation and using our vehicles, we can arrange airport pickup and drop off for you. You will want to fly into the San Jose International Airport which is about 1 hour and 10 minutes from Bella Vista Private Resort. VEHICLE RENTALS We have a 12-passenger van and a 7-passenger SUV Mitsubishi Outlander that can be added to your stay. OTHER PRIVATE RESORTS We also have 2 other large PRIVATE RESORTS in Costa Rica: The Majestic Lodge Private Resort in the rain forest just outside of La Fortuna, and Johnny's Beach Bungalow Private Resort right off of Playa Avellanas Beach just South of Tamarindo. Many of our guests that come to explore Costa Rica will often coordinate with us to stay at two or all three of our private resorts in order to experience the Beauty of the Mountains, the Adventure of the Rainforest, and the Fun on the Beaches of Costa Rica. CHARGES FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION - airport pick up from the San Jose airport starts at $175 and drop off is an additional $175 per trip for up to 8 people. It is an additional charge to coordinate two vehicles or a larger vehicle to pick up a larger group with all of their luggage. If you’re arriving in a large group, don’t feel like you need to coordinate your arrival. It is easier to coordinate multiple pick ups and drop offs than to coordinate with a second vehicle and a second driver. Airport pickup from the Liberia Airport is $300 for pick up and an additional $300 for drop off per vehicle. VEHICLE RENTAL FEES - the rental fee for the van is $150 per day and $100 per day to rent the Mitsubishi (insurance is included in that price). That is the price when renting out either vehicle during your whole stay. If you would like to just rent the vehicle during some of the days of your vacation but not the whole time then the cost is $200 per day used for the van and $150 for the Mitsubishi. When renting a vehicle from us, the rental period will start on the second day of your stay and will end the day before you leave. EVENTS - weddings or events for guests staying at the property for 24 or fewer people is $500. Events for groups between 25 and 50 people is $800. And events for groups between 51 and 80 people are $1200. When hosting events the whole property will be reserved for only your group. GUESTHOUSE ADD-ON - the cost for the guesthouse is $250 a night plus a $90 cleaning fee. TREEHOUSE ADD-ON - the cost for the treehouse is $200 a night plus a $50 cleaning fee. TINY HOUSE ADD-ON - the cost to add the tiny house is $125 plus a $35 cleaning fee. MEALS - the meals during your stay are $12 for breakfast and $16 for lunches and dinners per person per meal, depending on the meal. Meals such as specialty vegan meals may have an additional charge because of the additional cost for specialty vegan ingredients in Costa Rica. Payments for meals can be paid for in cash directly to the resort manager at the end of your trip who will provide you with a meal cost breakdown of the meals provided. Payment for all other services and add-ons can be coordinated and taken care of before arrival and after the initial booking. Guest access You will be given the access code to the large entry gate before arrival. You can then access the house with a separate smart code. There is plenty of free parking on the premises. Other things to note Bella Vista Private Resort is a 2-and-a-half acre property with houses. It runs like a small resort meaning that we have staff that live on-site and that take care of the property and the grounds. We also have a grounds keeper. This means that there will be Gardners and pool cleaners on the grounds most days. Also, if you have not rented out the whole property, please respect the privacy of others and don't approach the other homes on the property that may be occupied by other guests. The gym and the pickleball courts are common and usable by people in any of the homes. However, the pool by the main house can only be used by guests renting the main house. Bella Vista Private Resort is a luxury property, it is not a party house. We have strict restrictions against drug use or illegal activity on the property. The majority of the low reviews came from guests that engaged in drug use or other illegal activity and were upset when we let them know that that was not allowed at the property. So if that is your goal then this is not the property for you. The main house can sleep up to 14 people. If you would like to book the additional guesthouse, treehouse, or tiny house just let us know and we will help you coordinate the booking after your initial booking. ADDITIONALLY, we can accommodate events such as family or corporate retreats, weddings, baby showers, yoga groups, pickleball retreats, and other events on our 2 and a half acre property. There is an additional cost for set up and take down for hosting private events at the property. We have tables and chairs to host up to 80 people and we have connections to wedding planners, wedding officiators, and photographers. Services beyond event set up and take down can be paid for directly to the vendors and we can provide you with a list of vendors to help you coordinate your event. A FEW LAST THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND **Drugs on the property - we have a zero tolerance for drug use on our property or in our vehicles. If we find that there is anyone using any drugs, including marijuana, you’ll be asked to leave and no refunds will be offered. This also includes drinking alcohol, while operating our vehicles.** **No unauthorized guests on the property. We do not allow for guests to bring "friends" on the property that are not part of the booking unless their presence is prescheduled such as for an event like a wedding at the property. ** **Please make sure to not leave any food out on the counters. Costa Rica is a jungle country and every critter looks for food. In order to eliminate most bug and ant problems, it is very important that all food is placed in containers or in the refrigerator. Make sure no food is left out. Within a few hour you may have a little trail of ants thinking that they just found the jackpot.** **Also, please note that our policy is that there are no refunds for any reason for days used or not used. So rather than asking for a refund, if there is something wrong with your accommodations, let us know right away and we will do our very best to fix any problems. Some problems that may be related to the weather may not be fixable during your stay. We will do our best to address them and help you stay be as enjoyable as possible.**
