Description

Country chic cottage on a boutique farm in bucolic FREE UNION, 25 mins from Charlottesville or Crozet. NO CLEANING OR PET FEE. Completely remodeled cottage with well-stocked gourmet kitchen, stone fireplace (wood burning), firewood included. GE High Profile appliances and washer/dryer, granite counter tops and custom cabinets. Each bedroom has ensuite bathroom (with walk-in shower) and porch. Last mile+ is on a gravel road. The space This is a quiet retreat off a gravel road. The gravel road is usually well-maintained as best a gravel road can be maintained. There can be some rough sports after a heavy rain or snowfall. Most folks don't have an issue with since it is a country/rural cottage on a small farm. It is what makes it unique. This is not suburbia. Guest access The guests have access to the entire house. Other things to note This is a working farm with Angora goats and livestock guardian dogs. We have coyotes and bears in the area and could not run a small ruminant operation without them. All dogs are in the pastures and do not leave their livestock. All the working dogs here are friendly to humans. Our two year old granddaughter just about mauls each one when she visits. If you are walking down the drive, they will react to to you by barking to let you know they are there. The brown and white dog is Anna. The dog up at the barn is Otis. Even thought these dogs are friendly, it is usual practice not to reach into the pen. Please be careful of the electric lines between the four boards. They are electrified. If you are walking with your dogs and he or she tries to go under the fence line, they will most likely get zapped. They will probably yelp a but but it will not harm them. It usually takes only one zap for animals on both sides of the fence to “respect” the fence line.
