Island Time is a lovely air-conditioned self-catering holiday house located at Vivonne Bay, just a few minutes’ walk to one of Australia’s most stunning beaches. The décor is modern with a bright and airy ambience. There are two queen bedrooms at opposite ends of the house. The fully equipped kitchen includes an espresso machine. Free WiFi & Foxtel TV are provided along with a Blu-ray player and Bluetooth music system. The spacious deck includes a gas BBQ and offers diverse wildlife viewing. The space We have strived to make Island Time a real home-away-from-home with everything you need including a new Westinghouse stove with ceramic cooktop, new Scanpan cookware & cutlery and a Breville espresso machine with ground coffee supplied. Also a versatile triple burner gas BBQ on the deck along with a table setting and LED lighting. Free WiFi is included, taking advantage of broadband Internet available in Vivonne Bay. A bluetooth stereo system offers smartphone connectivity for playing your favourite music. Our Foxtel subscription provides streaming of news, entertainment and movie channels for viewing on our widescreen TV (plus recorded programs stored in the library). A selection of DVD movies is available along with a box of music CDs. Our bedrooms are suitable for one or two couples or a family (four people). A trundle bed for a fifth person (eg extra child) can be set up on request in advance of arrival. The house is cosy any time of the year with reverse cycle air-conditioning and dual electric blankets on the beds together with MiniJumbuk wool quilts. Extra pillows and blankets are available. The laundry includes a new LG washing machine along with a clothes airer and ironing board. There is a washing line at the rear of the house. Our sheltered deck catches the morning sun and is a great spot for coffee and alfresco dinners. Also enjoying the diverse wildlife in our bush garden including occasional koalas. Wallabies often visit below the deck in the evenings and numerous bird species flit around, notably Superb Fairywrens, New Holland Honeyeaters, Purple-Gaped Honeyeaters and endearing Striated Pardalotes that use nests we have made. Our birdbath in the rear garden is popular with honeyeaters & wrens. Island Time is located ~200 metres from pristine Vivonne Bay beach which offers fun for families and relaxing walks to the Harriet and Eleanor Rivers. Our guestbook dating from 2014 when we purchased Island Time is full of highly complimentary comments from guests who have stayed from far & wide. Guest access You have access to the entire house comprising living area, fully equipped kitchen, two queen bedrooms, bathroom, laundry and spacious outside deck with table setting & gas BBQ. Also a clothesline and fish-cleaning sink. Other things to note Kangaroo Island is subject to bushfire risk during the fire danger season, typically from December through April – refer to bushfire safety information in the blue Guest Information folder. Teabags, instant coffee, ground coffee & sugar are supplied along with salt & pepper & mixed herbs. We endeavour to maintain a supply of cooking oil. It is essential to bring food & drink supplies given the remote setting of Vivonne Bay. The local store has a limited range of basic items as well as eat-in & takeaway food. A child’s highchair is available in the kitchen. We rely totally on rainwater in our tanks so please be frugal with water use especially when showering. Optus & Telstra mobile reception is available noting the Telstra signal is weak in Vivonne Bay. Our driveway has sufficient space for up to three vehicles. We advocate travel insurance to provide cover in the event of disruption to your travel; e.g. weather-related ferry cancellations and other unforeseen events.
