Cottages on Sand Lake - *Jacuzzi* - The Retreat

Welcome to The Cottages on Sand Lake! The Farmhouse is the largest but is not directly on the water. There is a shared swimming area with 3 docks available for guests to use. Paddle boat, row boat, paddle boards and kayaks available. Sand lake is a 102 acre lake all sports lake with great fishing including large mouth bass, perch, bluegill, and catfish. This is a classic Michigan inland lake. Watch the sunset from the front porch and watch the carriages go by. The space The farmhouse is an over 100 years old but was gutted down to the studs and remodeled about 10 years ago. There are three bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom upstairs is small but functional and also has access to the top deck. All three bedrooms are connected so you do need to walk thru one bedroom to get to the other. I guess they didn’t build hallways back then. The master bedroom and bath are private and can be blocked off. Even though you aren’t likely to spend a lot of time inside, we also have WIFI and 3 smart tvs with Hulu, Disney+ and and PhiloTV which is an app with basic cable channels. Family games and puzzles are also provided for your enjoyment. Located in Amish country. Just 30 minutes to Shipshewana for flea market shopping (May - Sept.) and great Amish culture and cuisine. Yoder’s Country Market a 4 minute drive towards Centerville. Great golfing nearby with Island Hills Golf Club being just a 6 minute drive and St. Joe County Golf Club less then a mile away. Swiss Valley Ski and snowboard area 34 minutes away for winter time fun! This is the main house on the property. There are 4 other smaller cottages including 3 other Airbnbs. Fire pit, swimming area, docks, lounge chairs and swings are shared. Lake does have a cement seawall. Laundry room located in the basement and may be used by the house keeper, usually me, only when needed to do laundry for the other Airbnbs on property. The laundry room has its own separate entrance from the outside. So we do not need to enter the main floor and you will not be bothered. The laundry room is separated from the rest of the basement and is locked for the guests security and peace of mind. Large parking lot on property. Only 3 parking spots provided to the farm house. Paddle boat, row boats, paddle boards and kayaks available for free but are shared among all cottage guests. Water trampoline available (May - Oct). Life jackets and yard games available also and located in the small shed next to the garage. 3 docks available for guests to use. The Lakefront is a common area and shared by other guests. The lake is clean and not excessively "weedy". There are no lilly pads. My kids love jumping right off the dock! This is a classic Michigan inland lake, 102 acres, all sports with great fishing. We provide contactless check-in for your stay. There is a keypad on the back door for entry. Property manager can be reached by phone, email, or text, as needed. We do allow pets with a $50 per pet fee. You will also be required to agree to our pet policy. Please be sure to include that you will be bringing pets before you arrive. Correct number of guests must be given at time of reservation for the correct price! Adding additional guests after making your reservation will result in additional fees. As, obviously, we charge less for a reservation of 2 than we do for a reservation of 10. No parties or unauthorized events. Guest access Private Hot tub!!! Jacuzzi J-345 Spa exclusive to The Farm House. The hot tub is private and is not shared with other guests. Other things to note House is not directly on the water. It is about 250 ft from the water. Their are 3 smaller cottages which are directly on the water. All guests must be disclosed and on your reservation! No parties or family gatherings are allowed. The beach area is for registered guests only. We do this to keep the beach area uncrowded and enjoyable for all of our guests. If your reservation is for less then the allowed number of guests at your cottage then you may request to have visitors (only up to the allowed number of guests) but permission must be obtained before hand. If you would like to have a family gathering we recommend Sand Lake County Park. Unauthorized guests will result in a $100 per day fee. If you would like early check in or late check out I will do my best to accommodate. There is a fee of $20 per hour. Please be aware that it takes up to 5 hours to clean and do laundry in between guests so availability is subject to prior/future guests requests. We do allow pets with a $50 pet fee per pet which will be requested thru the Airbnb app on the day of your arrival. Security camera located by front door with view of parking lot only. Some beach/hot tub towels are provided in addition to bath towels but bring extra if you like extra!
