Waterfront A-Frame on the Marina • Lake Pepin
Waterfront A-Frame on the Marina • Lake Pepin
Description
A classic A-frame on the marina, where the Mississippi widens into a lake three miles across and the bluffs rise on both sides. Steps from Harbor View Café and The Pickle Factory, close to Villa Bellezza and Woods & Co. — one of the best-positioned spots in Pepin for a wedding weekend, a romantic escape, or a few days of doing exactly nothing. You have the best views, and you can walk everywhere Best location in town. The space Welcome to The Dockside A-Frame. The building sets the tone before you even unpack: cedar-clad cathedral ceilings, a dramatic A-frame roofline, and oversized windows that frame the water and bluffs like a painting. From the main living area and the private balcony, the view is unobstructed — Lake Pepin at its widest, the Mississippi bluffs, and light that shifts all day long. The layout is open and easy. The main level flows between living, dining, and kitchen, with comfortable seating and room to spread out or settle in. The master bedroom sits on the lower level — set apart from the main living space, with its own water view and a quiet place to close the door and rest. Upstairs, a spiral staircase leads to a lofted sleeping nook tucked under the peak of the A-frame, cozy and full of that particular A-frame light. There's also a Murphy bed in the den that pulls out of the wall, giving you flexible sleeping arrangements for up to 6 guests total. Guests often mention how quickly they settle in — that time moves a little differently once you're waking up to that view. For wedding weekends: The A-Frame is a short walk from Villa Bellezza and Woods & Co., with open common areas, easy gathering space, and room for two couples to stay comfortably. It's a natural home base for the weekend. Traveling with a larger group? The A-Frame is one of two units at The Dockside — the other is the Marina Bungalow next door. Each rents independently, or book both and unlock the pass-through door for a single 4-bedroom, 4-bath home with two full kitchens, three living spaces, and 7 beds. It's a great option for a full wedding party or larger family gathering. Links to all listings are in my host profile. Highlights: - Waterfront views from the balcony and all main living areas - Iconic A-frame architecture — cathedral cedar ceilings, dramatic roofline - Private balcony directly over the marina - Murphy bed in den, lofted sleeping nook via spiral staircase — sleeps up to 6 - Master bedroom with private view on lower level - Steps from Harbor View Café, The Pickle Factory, Villa Bellezza, and the marina path Perfect for: - Couples or two couples on a romantic waterfront escape - Wedding guests and wedding parties — Villa Bellezza and Woods & Co. are a short walk - Creative travelers: writers, photographers, anyone who does their best thinking with water in front of them - Families with kids Guest access There is a large driveway with plenty of space for three cars. You can walk all over the village, and lots of other sightseeing is a short drive away. Check-in is easy with a code. Other things to note Please note that there is an active train line right out in front -- it runs the entire length of the village and river, and freight do trains pass by somewhat frequently, so once in a while there is the rumble of a train chugging by. Most people find it charming and not a big distraction (kids really love it), but if you're a very light sleeper this is something to note! Also, please be aware that the A-Frame Cabin is one of two units on the property, which is essentially a very large duplex. It's a fully private unit with a private entrance, but there are some shared walls with the Marina Bungalow -- the walls are insulated and almost soundproof, but you still may hear some guest activity in the other unit at times. There is so much to see and to do here in the great river valley! I'll be happy to share all my tips with you on dining, sightseeing, and activities.
