Description
Plan a peaceful stay for up to 5 people in this cozy, well-appointed cabin with lake access that marries rustic charm with modern amenities. This is a vintage Adirondack retreat with access to a quiet and private lake perfect for swimming, paddling and fishing. We have loons and a resident bald eagle. A local winery and brewery are so close by too! Ausable Chasm is fun family-friendly attraction just down the road. The space You’ll enjoy views of the lake and mountains from our screened-in porch, living room, and dock. The large country kitchen is generously stocked with utensils, dishes, pots/pans, pantry essentials (spices, sugar, etc) and small appliances. There is a dishwasher and microwave oven for your convenience as well. Outdoors you’ll find a propane grill too. Open the windows on the screened in porch and feel the warm breeze. This is a spot where you can sit in the morning with a cup of coffee or in the evening with a glass of wine. You may see a deer meandering down to the lake and you’ll definitely hear the loons calling. The living room is large with vaulted ceilings and there is a wood stove to warm you up on chilly nights. There are two comfy recliners and a futon couch. You’ll find an abundant variety of DVD’s, books, games and puzzles to keep you busy. And, you can go “old school” and spin some vinyl on our record player. Or, pair your phone with our SONOS speaker if you prefer. Each bedroom has a comfortable Queen size bed with cozy linens. You’ll also find a dresser and closet to store your belongings. Because the ceilings in each bedroom are a bit low, it makes for a cozy atmosphere. They're about 6'8" in height - so if you're of tall stature you may not find the low ceilings to your liking. The bathroom is located in the hallway between the 2 bedrooms and has a tub/shower with spectacular water pressure! The bathroom has the low ceilings just like the bedrooms. Outdoors you’re surrounded by trees, boulders and nature and there is a secluded hot tub for relaxing in when you’ve had a full day - we even provide you with bathrobes! We provide 2 kayaks, a canoe and stand up paddle board for your enjoyment. Life vests can be found hanging on the front porch. A few other things you may need during your stay are the fans, portable A/C unit and the washer and dryer. If you are planning on parking a boat for use on another lake, our driveway may not be able to accommodate it. It’s a very narrow road and driveway and backing in a large fishing/motor boat will not be possible. Guest access Guest will have access to the entire cabin, garage and the lake. There is a driveway with enough space for 2 cars. PLEASE NOTE: If you are planning on parking a boat for use on Lake Champlain, our driveway may not be able to accommodate it. Lewis Road and our driveway are very narrow making backing in a large boat VERY difficult. The lake is about 80’ from the camp. To access the lake, you have to cross the dirt road and follow the foot path along the side of the fence on the left. There you’ll find our dock where you can launch/store the canoe/kayaks during your stay. During the winter there is no dock. But you can use the lake to X-Country ski or snow shoe. We must tell you, though, our deeded lake access is only 2ft wide, so we ask that guests be respectful of our neighbors property on both sides. Plan wonderful outings to the nearby towns of Lake Placid and Burlington. There is a local winery and brewery (open seasonally) that are a “MUST” while you’re here too! You might also enjoy the sandy, guarded community beach in Port Douglas on Lake Champlain just a short drive away. Other things to note For those planning on working from the cabin.... We have installed SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet. This provides high speed internet service (90 Mbps Download/11.6 Mbps Upload). However, we cannot guarantee there will be zero interruptions. There is no cell service and we do not have a landline at the cabin. We have not needed a land-line at the cabin since installing our internet service. We utilize the wifi to make FaceTime calls and text message. We also rely on wifi calling. We have not had a problem connecting to the "outside world" from the cabin. But, you will need to be patient with connectivity - Starlink is a satellite service and we can't guarantee there will be zero disruptions.
