Chez Montagnes: Family friendly retreat with pool

Nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees, Chez Montagnes is a traditional French stone house with every modern luxury your heart desires. Ideal for families, cyclists, hikers, skiers, runners and thrill seekers, we are located close to swimming lakes, trails and beautiful Cathar castles & villages. Make yourself at home, relax by the pool, bbq in the summer kitchen or chill on one of our 4 terraces. Accommodates up to 6 adults and 3 children. The space The accommodation is set over 4 levels: The ground floor houses our well-equipped kitchen, dining room, split-level sitting room - TV room with leather suite, mini-library and 2 sets of patio doors accessing the courtyard to one side and the balcony to the other on one end, plus large, bright lounge with 3 seater couch and 2 arm chairs on the other. There's also a WC on this level. First floor has 3 bedrooms: our master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, guest bedroom with electric fire in travertine marble fireplace, and bedroom 3 (known fondly as the kids room) with triple bunk bed. Also on this floor we have a WC and separately a spacious bathroom with spa rain shower, jacuzzi bath and double sink. The loft is a large but cosy space with a small study for working from home and a spacious bedroom with lots of warm exposed stone features, 2 single beds and a picture window with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The basement (at true ground level) holds our utility room, wine cellar and our small gym equipped with weights bench, yoga mats and an electric sauna fitted with a music system. There is step-free access from the front garden to bring bikes or skis in so they can be stored in the gym. Outside there are 4 terraces and 8m x 4m pool for your private use. The pool has a safety cover, lots of inflatables and loungers, rattan couch & stools and sun umbrellas on the poolside deck. Our garden spaces: - Water garden with pond, bistro table and double swing seat. - Flower-filled courtyard with rattan dining set under a canopy adjacent to the summer kitchen. - Balcony with beautiful mountain views, chiminea for cooler evenings and a dining table that seats 8. - Sunny poolside terrace between the balcony and pool. Our summer kitchen has a charcoal bbq, plancha flat plate, fridge/freezer and bar to grab a drink while the chef does their work. Guest access The entire property: house, pool and gardens are for your private use. Chez Montagnes is not within walking distance of Puivert village, you will need a car to get around. There's parking for 2 cars in our carport. Other things to note - Baby equipment free & available on request. - The property is cleaned & disinfected thoroughly between guest stays. - Guests will get access to Spotify playlists in our Guestbook! - Our house is a tranquil haven in the mountains, so we ask that music and loud noise is kept to a minimum after 9pm to respect the neighbours. - There's no window guards on the upper levels, caution should be taken for younger guests. - The pool is open for the season from May - September and children must be supervised at all times. - Linen and bath towels are provided for all guests.
