This beautifully RENOVATED 3BR, 1.5 bath home merges its FARMHOUSE HERITAGE with MODERN décor and comforts. It is perfectly located on SOUTH STREET, perhaps the most sought-after address in Middlebury because it is nestled right between the heart of campus and this quintessential New England town. Both are just under a 5 min walk away. The home has a FULLY EQUIPPED CHEF’S KITCHEN which perfectly blends the old-world charm of exposed brick and beams with modern luxuries. All stainless appliances, gas stove, and eat-in kitchen island make this light-filled space a joy to cook and dine in. Adjoining dining space offers handmade custom dining table and views to the side and backyard that bring the outside in. A side porch off the dining area, furnished with Adirondack chairs, is a lovely place to enjoy a drink or a good book. Main living space includes a 65” TV with surround sound, and should you need to sneak in some work there is a great desk nook. If coming with family or friends, we also have a collection of great board games as well as jigsaw puzzles. The first level also includes a convenient half bath and full laundry facilities. The second floor offers three bedrooms and a full bath. Each room features comfy beds with luxurious linens. The largest bedroom has large windows across the back wall with gorgeous views of the backyard and aspen grove. During the winter months, you can see the Green Mountains. A private driveway allows for two-car parking. There is plenty of additional free parking on the street in front of the house. If you are visiting the College, you don’t need to worry about finding parking on campus. Property includes gigabit high speed internet and air-conditioning for summer days. One of the older homes on South Street, the original structure dates to at least the mid-1800s—there are few records that go back further. The house was built to its current footprint in 1915. Entire house. (except for basement, attic, and shed.) To make your stay as enjoyable as possible, we are happy to give recommendations for things to do around Middlebury. If you need CHEF services for private events, we can introduce you to one. You can start your stay here with local farm fresh eggs, Vermont coffee, tea, cream, and Middlebury Bagels. If you need the fridge stocked with any other provisions, we can do that! If you fancy hosting an outdoor gathering on the large side and back yard, we can offer suggestions for that as well. We want you to enjoy the home as much as we do. Walk everywhere from this house. Middlebury College is just a short walk and so are all the shops and restaurants. A short stroll towards town and you can grab your morning brew and a fresh pastry at the Otter Creek Bakery, a popular gathering spot in warmer months for breakfast and lunch. Next to it is the Two Brothers Tavern as well as the shops at Old Stone Mill. You can also walk across the Otter Creek and sit by the water with lunch from Castello’s (delicious Italian) or sandwich from Noonie’s. American Flatbread is also there if you want pizza in the evening. Take our tandem bike for a spin around town or on South Street itself which features some of Middlebury’s most historic homes (Yes, the property comes with a two-person bike and it is a lot of fun to ride). The house is also very close to the TAM (Trail Around Middlebury), college athletic fields, and the golf course. If you're coming with dogs, the Middlebury Dog Park is a quick walk straight down South Street, away from the town center, just behind the fire station with ample parking as well. As animal lovers, and parents of two dogs, we are happy to welcome your pets (dogs and/or cats) to our home. We do have simple guidelines for your stay with pets that are outlined in more detail in our guidebook.
