Hygge House | A Cozy Guesthouse

The Hygge (pronounced hyoo·guh) House is a tiny taste of Scandinavia in Southeastern Minnesota. What is Hygge? In short, it's a Scandinavian way of living that focuses on hunkering down and creating a safe, comforting and warm place to while away. My husband and I hand built the Hygge House with your comfort in mind. We love being cozy and having space to spend together so when the opportunity arose to renovate our studio, we wanted to share it! The space We made every effort to build Hygge into the house whenever we could. This guest house is connected to our garage and was inspired by a similar guest house we stayed in in Sweden. The space has a woodstove for when it's chilly, areas for reading and lounging, as well as comfortable spaces to cook and play a game together. The loft has a King bed and the main area has a twin loft bed and a full size bed that was custom built for the space. There is also a floor mattress that can be pulled out of the bean bag if needed. It features a full washer & dryer, as well as a vintage GE Range & Oven that we traveled over 200 miles to get, a fridge, microwave, drip coffee maker and a dishwasher.
