Welcome to Stone House! Located on a peaceful hillside estate with beautiful manicured gardens, this house is part of a collection of eight beautifully restored nineteenth-century properties. This lovingly restored 19th century cottage features natural oak floors and high ceilings. It is furnished with unique decorative pieces from around the world. You enter Stone House through the kitchen area on the ground floor, which is well equipped and features a full-size stainless steel fridge and modern appliances. Off of the kitchen is a quaint dining area, which seats 4, and a comfortable reading area, with shelves of great books for choose from! Just up a short flight of stairs is a large loft bedroom, with a queen size bed, a sitting area, and lovely high cathedral ceilings. There is also a full bathroom on the ground floor. The master bedroom is accessed down a flight of stairs. It has a king bed and beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. Outside, Stone House features two large and lovely shaded porches, which have dining and sitting areas. *Please note: The house is not supported by a backup power generator. The town of Governors Harbour, a three-minute walk down the hill, has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbour. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897. There is also Friday Night Fish Fry, a weekly street/beach party that brings together tourists, second home owners, and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street! Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, and a medical clinic. Eleuthera is a little slice of paradise! Life here is like a whimsical adventure, where power outages are just nature's way of reminding us to embrace the candlelit charm of our island evenings. During the off-season, our restaurants and stores play a game of hide-and-seek, adding an exciting twist to the hunt for the perfect meal or souvenir. And oh, the bugs and roosters! They're like the quirky co-stars in our island comedy, providing the soundtrack to our days and nights. Despite these quirks, we wouldn't trade our unique island life for anything.
