Your kids will love the Ericson House because the bunkbed game room comes equipped with an Xbox game console, a smart TV, two controllers, two gaming headsets, three family-friendly video games and board games! The top bunk is loaded with oversized pillows for comfortable sitting while playing video games or board games during the day. At night, those pillows can be stored inside the window bench just outside of the bunkbed room. The maximum weight capacity of each bunk is 400 lbs, 800 total - perfect for two or three kids to sit and play video or board games together on the top bunk. The twin bunk bed mattresses measure 38” by 75” and are made of a very comfortable memory-foam so kids will enjoy playing or sleeping in the bunkbed room. Also, for guests with infants, we provide a Graco Pack ‘N Play, a bassinet, related bedding, a changing station, a high-chair, and covers for outlets and door knobs. The baby gear is stored inside in a big cabinet in the service porch where guests with infants can retrieve what they need and set it up in the house where they prefer. The Ericson House beds are extremely comfortable. The master bedroom and middle bedroom are furnished with new, 13" Sealy pillow-top queen-size mattresses. The mattress pads are made by Naturepedic with two layers of jersey organic cotton fabric for great comfort and a healthier sleep environment. The master bedroom also features a grand built-in vanity with an extra-large mirror, make-up lighting, blow dryer, and a free standing long mirror mounted on a wall inside the closet. The middle bedroom features a beautifully refinished antique chest of drawers with drop-down desk, antique cedar chest, a wall-mounted long mirror, and a blow dryer. Amazon Echo's "Sleep Sounds" are available in each bedroom, along with lamps programmed to turn on and off at your command. A futon is available for additional sleeping space if requested. The Ericson House kitchen is full of new appliances including a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher a vented range hood, microwave oven, coffee maker, food processor, toaster, blender, filtered water and ice maker. Guests on longer stays will appreciate the traditional built-in vegetable and fruit cooler that ripen your veggies and fruit to perfection. A state-of-the-art washer and dryer are available for guest use, at no additional charge, in the service porch. The bathroom features a mirror with make-up lighting, make up storage, and a blow dryer. In addition, there's a bathtub, a shower, and a shower head with multiple settings. The toilet comes with a bidet. In the private patio, your family can enjoy grilling a steak on a built-in brick barbecue whose frame dates back to the early 1900s. After grilling the steak, dine under the stars at a patio table with seating for eight. In the morning or the evening, lounge on our comfortable patio furniture while taking in a beautiful view of the surrounding Whittier Hills. Whittier College alumni, families and visitors will love that the Ericson House is across the street from Whittier College. Guests have private access to the house and grounds and they do not share it with travelers from another group. Locked off from guest access are two cabinets in the service porch, two cabinets in the garage, and the shed (located next to the garage). We have our phones set to ring loudly when we receive a message from an AirBNB guest so we won't miss the message. However, before check in, we send all guests a welcome message that includes our phone number for calling or texting on the rare occasion we don't see a guest message sent via the AirBNB messaging platform. Also we live in the area so we are usually available to stop by in person if needed. Our charming home is set in Whittier's Uptown neighborhood, a village nestled in the hills on tree-lined streets. Guests are a short walk from dining, shopping & entertainment on the beautiful Greenleaf Promenade. During the day, go hiking or biking on one of Whittier's famous hillside trails, or take the family for a walk on Whittier's Greenway Trail. We are a short drive to beaches and amusement parks. Afterwards relax in our backyard with a barbecue under the shade of the large avocado trees. All dining and entertainment venues in historic uptown Whittier are in walking distance from the house. Bus passes are located at the uptown Senior Center, which is also walking distance from the house.
