Making Memories in a Place to be Remembered, Bauknight House is The Jewel of Walhalla. At our 119 year old home in the heart of historic downtown Walhalla, SC, we offer visitors a chance to experience historic charm and beauty in a luxurious mansion on Main Street. The space Beautiful historic home circa 1906 with large rooms and modern amenities. You're greeted by the expansive front veranda with impressive columns and rocking chairs to take in the mountain view. The back of the home features off-street parking for 5+ cars. The sidewalk leads you through the private back garden to the patio and covered veranda. Outdoor dining is an option in the front or back of the home. The first floor features large gathering rooms with easy flow for entertaining and two gas log fireplaces. The sunroom is an ideal spot to enjoy a book or take in the town. A formal parlor opens into the large dining room with 8 ft table. Your kitchen and walk-in pantry are conveniently located just off the dining room. The stocked kitchen includes a restaurant style ice maker/dispenser and everything you need to cater in or prepare a meal. A large king size bedroom with ensuite bathroom is also located on the main floor as well as a half bath and laundry just off the back veranda. Four additional bedrooms are located on the second floor. There are three large king size rooms and the intimate former "Nanny's Room" with double bed. A spacious and charming bathroom services the second floor along with a convenient drink station. This historic jewel has been lovingly restored and you're sure to enjoy its southern charm. Guest access Directly on Main Street with short walk to local dining and shopping in the historic town of Walhalla, SC and just a short drive to all the upstate has to offer, including nearby bike/mountain trails, hiking, waterfalls, area lakes and parks. Clemson University is only 25 minutes away and downtown Greenville, just about an hour drive. Other things to note Please understand, the Bauknight House is a historic home and as such, may not meet all modern building and safety standards.
