Black Bear Lodge is a cabin-inspired retreat near Colorado Springs where you can connect with your group and come home to what really matters. A giant wrap-around deck looks out to Pikes Peak while inside you’ll find special amenities from a game room and home theater to a fun wine barrel bar. This 5,000 square foot home also has six bedrooms and cabin touches: Stone fireplaces, leather furniture, a fire pit, and cozy pillows and rugs. Everything you need to live your best Colorado life! The space GREAT OUTDOORS LOCATION Black Bear Lodge is tucked away on 3.5 acres in the mountain community of Black Forest. Situated among towering pine trees and prairie grasses, Black Forest is only a 25-minute drive to downtown Colorado Springs and about an hour away from Denver. Hiking and biking trails are a stone’s throw away, and there is much more to discover. Outdoor and cultural adventures include the other-worldly Garden of the Gods park, U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, Cave of the Winds Mountain Park and the iconic Pikes Peak (there is a new visitor center at the summit). Explore the region’s Old West heritage by panning for gold at the Western Museum of Mining & Industry or enjoying a chuckwagon dinner and western stage show at the historic Flying W Ranch. GIANT DECK & ROCKIES VIEW A large wooden deck that wraps around the house is a serene place to enjoy morning coffee, sunset dinners and twinkling stars across the night sky. The back deck offers a Pikes Peak view along with a picnic table, BBQ grill and fire pit so you can take in the scenery any time of the day. CABIN-INSPIRED LIVING, KITCHEN & DINING AREAS The living room and kitchen feel like the cozy cabin of your dreams – one outfitted with rich woods and leathers, Native American-style rugs, hanging lanterns, and pillows and throws aplenty. And of course, there’s a stone fireplace for evening fires. A window wall in the living room leads to the dining area where a wooden communal table is a gathering spot for your group. The gourmet kitchen has everything you’ll need to cook like a chef in a homey setting: Edison pendant lights, an island with counter seats and lots of pine cabinets set the mood. And for special dinners or celebrations, the wood-clad dining room with a bay window is a beautiful space to come together. GAME ROOM & BAR Downstairs, a game room and bar is a destination unto itself. Team up for a pool tournament or pick a board game from the impressive game cabinet. A sofa, smart TV and stone fireplace round out the setting while a charming wine barrel bar steals the show (it comes with a mini fridge and sink). The idea of unwinding here with a cold beer or glass of wine may just have you saying: “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” HOME THEATER The home theater room is the undisputed place to watch the big game or have a movie night. Kick back on plush leather seating as you enjoy the home theater projector and surround sound. Plus, the bar is just steps away for eats and drinks. GARAGE GAMES Even the garage has fun amenities for your group – choose among ping pong, shuffleboard and cornhole. 6 BEDROOMS Six bedrooms sleep up to 20 guests and are decorated in a cozy cabin or mountain modern style. Comfy touches include window seats, plush bedding and decorative pillows, wooden beds and lumberjack plaid blankets in the bunk bed room. Four bedrooms are located on the second floor with one each on the main level and downstairs floor. There is also a pull-out sofa bed in the home theater room. You can access Black Bear Lodge any time with our secure, keyless entry. Other things to note CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT Check-in is anytime after 4:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am. Based on availability, you can check in any time earlier in the day for a $150 fee. As we may be able to accommodate a late check-out if no guests are arriving the same day, please check with us if needed. WELCOME GUIDEBOOK You will receive a digital welcome guidebook a few days before your arrival that contains all the house information you will need. ADDITIONAL GUESTS There is a $15 fee per person/night for any guests above 10. This helps cover additional wear and tear on the home, higher utility bills and more. Please contact us if your guest count is over 16 as we will add that to the back of the reservation. NO SHOES POLICY We greatly appreciate you taking off your shoes while in the house so we can preserve the rugs and hardwood and carpeted floors. QUIET HOURS Thank you for observing quiet hours between 9:00 pm and 8:00 am. This ensures the peace of the neighborhood and our standing as courteous neighbors. SMOKING To keep Black Bear Lodge fresh and clean for all, smoking is not permitted inside. If smoke is detected, there will be a $300 fee for proper deep cleaning and odor removal. PARTIES & EVENTS Gatherings with your group are great, but parties and events are not permitted. Any evidence of such will result in a $500 fee and an immediate termination of your booking.
