Our casita is located on the Turquoise Trail, close to Sandia Peak Ski Area and Paa-Ko golf course. It's about 30 minutes from Albuquerque and 45 minutes from Santa Fe. You’ll love the ambiance, the quiet, and the surrounding forest while having all the modern conveniences. The casita is good for couples and solo adventurers, especially those who are looking for a tranquil forest setting with mountain vistas. It's an ideal place for an artist or writer to retreat from the bustle of the world. The space Our guest house has a wraparound screened-in porch, full kitchen and private bath with shower. The views of the mountains -- especially around sunset -- are spectacular. The porch is a wonderful place to hang out with a beverage and just relax with the sound of the breeze and smell of the forest. Some guests coming from cities have told me it's hard for them to adjust to the quiet. Then again, at other times our local coyotes like to serenade you. Guest access You'll have an entire house to yourself, complete with kitchen, washer/dryer and a single-car garage. We supply (caffeinated) coffee, tea, sugar, and powdered creamer. We also provide toilet paper, paper towels, bathroom soap, dish soap, and laundry detergent. Other things to note We do get snow here in the winter. The roads are typically plowed quickly. Even so, a four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive car is best if you come during the winter. We're at an altitude of 6750 feet, so if you're not used to higher altitudes you may experience headaches or sleepiness until you've had time to adjust. It's a good idea to go easy on the alcohol until you're acclimated.
