The Ponderosa House: 2 Bedroom Nest in the Pines
Our nest in the pines is the perfect place to rest and enjoy the wildlife. Our clean, comfortable two bedroom home is perfect for relaxing or as a base to explore the many attractions that surround the area including the Big Horns Mountains themselves. Whatever your reason for visiting the area, we are here to make sure you have a great stay. We are in the middle of nowhere, but close to everything. Let us know what you're interested in and we would be happy to assist you. The space We have tried to provide everything you would need while traveling. We live a half mile away and are available almost all the time. The neighborhood is quite most of the time, and the wildlife just stroll by. We know most people like to stay connected, so there is wifi, smart tv, cable tv and phone, but what a great place to disconnect and take a little break from all that. Speaking of which, we live in a remote area and wifi is occasionally affected by our weather which, of course, we have no control. Other things to note In downtown Sheridan, Dayton and Ranchester you will find boutiques, art galleries, antique stores and lots of options for food, drink and coffee. Sheridan also has the wonderful Wyo Theatre. There are four diverse golf courses within a twenty mile drive: Kendrick, Buffalo Gold Club, Hidden Bridge Golf Club and the Powder Horn. If snow is more your thing, Meadowlark and Antelope Butte Ski areas are close by and there are a number of popular, designated snowmobile areas, as well. Water recreation abounds, and local businesses rent boats/equipment/gear. Lake DeSmet is a fifteen minute drive away (with no road construction) and has a restaurant, gas station and many water sport opportunities, as well as just fun in the sun. And of course, there's rodeo. Sheridan Wyo Rodeo in early July every year brings people from all over every year and Elks Youth Rodeo is at the end of August. Bicycling is popular and there are places to rent bikes. Buffalo also has many shops, galleries, antiques and museums, historic sites, restaurants and outdoor opportunities. Sheridan and Buffalo are both less than 30 minutes away. If heading to Buffalo from Story(or the other way around) ask us for alternate routes to avoid the construction. There is so much to do in the area and I have just scratched the surface,, yet our favorite thing to do is sit back and appreciate the beauty.
