Directly adjacent to Veteran's Park on a residential road, you are within steps of downtown Millinocket and the Marathon start line. What's more, the ITS snowmobile trail picks up directly behind the house and it's an easy drive to Baxter State Park and beyond. This is a classic Millinocket home with updated furniture, a large indoor sunroom, and a lawn. Three bedrooms offer a variety of sleeping options - ideal for families. Private parking in driveway. Located within steps of downtown Millinocket shops and restaurants, this characteristic home faces due east and benefits from plenty of natural light throughout the day. The three bedrooms are arranged with groups in mind, and a full newly-renovated bathroom on the upper level makes it easy to get ready & out the door. The kitchen and dining space are made for entertaining. A new smart TV and furniture as well as AC/heat pump make the living room the preferred place to relax after a day outdoors. For snowmobilers, you can reach maintained trail directly behind the house or alternatively you can drop your trailer at the Northern Timber Cruisers headquarters just 1.5 away with ample parking and access to multiple trails. Check their website for current conditions and grooming. There's also parking onsite for vehicles & snowmobiles in the large driveway. NOTE: The driveway measures 75 feet long x 13 feet wide. Please ensure your vehicles and trailers will fit, or plan to utilize the Northern Timber Cruiser's lot for additional storage. Our guests have access to the washer & dryer units in the basement, and there's also parking onsite for vehicles & snowmobiles in the large driveway. For those driving electric vehicles, there is a Tesla Supercharger just off I-95 on your way to Millinocket. What's more, the house is equipped with the fastest Internet available in the area (300 Mbps), making it a great place to work remotely while exploring the area. We are avid animal lovers and welcome well-behaved and well-mannered pets after discussing with us ahead of time. There is an additional $40 fee payable through AirBnB or VRBO when booking your reservation. There is also a park directly across the street which makes for the perfect place to walk your dog. This area has it all, from hiking, biking, boating, fishing, ATV riding, golfing, white water rafting, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Come see for yourself what makes this area so special. We're looking forward to your stay! FAQs: Q: How close are the snowmobile trails? A: Directly behind the house! See the listing photos for an aerial view and take a look at the map published by the Chamber of Commerce for a better sense of the area routes. Q: How many vehicles/snowmobiles/ATVs can I park? A: The driveway measures 75 feet long x 13 feet wide. Please ensure your vehicles and trailers will fit in this space, or plan to utilize the Northern Timber Cruiser's lot for additional storage. The garage may also be available for storage, but please check with us first. Q: Is early check-in available? A: Check-in is at 4pm, but we can occasionally allow an early check-in of 2pm if another group is not checking out that same day. We won't know until a couple of days before your reservation if this will be the case, so please ask closer to your arrival date and we can give you a definite answer. Q: Are pets allowed? A: Yes, this is a pet-friendly rental. Please let us know beforehand as there is a $40 additional charge for pets, and we ask that you keep them off of furniture and beds. Q: What if the weather is bad/there's no snow? Can I cancel? A: Please see our cancellation policy. Just as our guests expect to have their reservations honored, we also rely on consistent bookings to continue operations and do not have the ability to absorb last-minute cancellations as many hotels do. Though we can't control the weather, the Millinocket area has lots of rainy-day activities to keep you entertained any time of the year! Q: What is the Internet speed? A: We have the fastest, most stable connection available in the region - 300 Mpbs - which is more than enough to support multiple connected devices, streaming, and video calls. Many guests have worked remotely without issue (and their employers none the wiser!) Q: How far away is Baxter State Park, NEOC, etc? A: Distances to local attractions from Katahdin Ave: Bangor (big-box stores, airport): 73 miles / 1 hour Baxter State Park Entrance (Togue Pond): 18 miles / 31 minutes Downtown area (restaurants, bars, shops): 100 yards Hannaford Grocery Store: 1.4 miles / 4 minutes Hillcrest Golf Club: 1.4 miles / 4 minutes Katahdin Woods & Waters National Monument: 21 miles / 48 minutes New England Outdoor Center: 10 miles / 15 minutes Northern Timber Cruisers Snowmobile/ATV Club (extra parking & trail access): 1.9 miles / 4 minutes Millinocket Regional Hospital: 0.4 mile / 1 minute Ol’ Man’s Gear Shop at the AT Lodge (hiking supplies): 100 yards Penobscot River Trails: 23 miles / 30 minutes Portland (city & airport): 200 miles / 3 hours Snowmobile/ATV trails: In the backyard - less than 50 feet. Tesla Supercharger: 11 miles / 17 minutes Walmart in Lincoln: 32 miles / 40 minutes Katahdin Ave is for the exclusive use & stay of registered guests. Guests have access to the house, the backyard, the laundry units in the basement (please be careful on the stairs!), and a large sun porch. When you stay with us you're only one block from town center for breakfast, the library, or the post office. There are also hardware and general stores for supplies. Hannaford, a short drive away, is well-stocked and covers all your grocery shopping needs. For other shopping needs, there's a Walmart in Lincoln, less than 30 miles away. We also highly recommend checking out the Katahdin Gear Library for borrowing canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, bikes (mountain and fat-tire), XC skis, snowshoes, and backpacks - all for free or low cost.
