We know gathering with a large group can be an exciting chance to reconnect, so we’ve designed the first floor to be your place to unwind and hang out. Sit down with one of your favorite books in the reading chairs near the main entrance, lounge with your friends around the stone fireplace and put on your favorite movie, or spend an evening playing board games in our surprisingly spacious shuffleboard room. No matter where you turn, you’ll find something new to discover. Cook a large meal in the generously sized kitchen with double oven or mix a drink at the bar with separate under counter drink fridges. Gather for a feast in the dining area or soak in the sun from the lakeview sitting room, your options are endless. And when you’re ready for some alone time we recommend making your way to your private bedroom to enjoy the views just outside your window. Every room provides its own unique perspective of the wilderness and wildlife around you. If you’re looking to really enjoy the outdoors then be sure to make use of your own private dock, newly installed fire pit, or the outdoor patio with grill. These are the places where the real magic happens. Whether you choose to spend your quality time exploring the deep blue shores of 50 acre Lake Vanderkamp, walking with the sounds of the birds throughout our nine miles of hiking trails, or taking in the hint of pine that emanates from the lodge's recently renovated exposed pine beams, we want you to enjoy every moment of your stay with us. Let us show you how to get slow and we know you’ll never want to leave. Frank is part of Vanderkamp, an 850 acre estate that provides exclusive and immersive lodging experiences. There is another lodge about 200 feet away. Vanderkamp is located on 850 acres just north of Oneida Lake in Upstate NY. You can enter the property from one of two ways. The main entrance or a mile long jeep road that winds through the wooded property and past Vanderkamp Lake before turning down the drive to Frank Soule Lodge. Parking is right in front of the lodge. Guests can use the property to hike, borrow a canoe, play volleyball or yard games, build a bonfire, and watch the sunset over the lake. You will be sharing the estate with a select few other guests while you are here. Vanderkamp is a neighborhood all by itself, but if you would like to venture off property there are several local restaurants, a grocery store, horse stables, and golf courses within 10-15 minutes of the property. If you want to explore a bigger lake there are a few boat rental facilities on Oneida Lake. Vanderkamp is located on 850 Acres north of Oneida Lake. You can enter the property from one of two ways. The main entrance or a mile long jeep road that winds through the wooded property and past Vanderkamp Lake before turning down the drive to Frank Soule Lodge. Parking is right in front of the lodge. Guests can use the property to hike, borrow a canoe, play volleyball or yard games, build a bonfire, and watch the sunset over the lake. While at VK you and the limited other guests are the stewards of this magical place. Many of the items you will need to enjoy your outdoor wilderness escape are included.
