The space With soaring colonial beamed ceilings 7 meters high, original pasta tiles, and tall cedar doors, Casa Tres Dragones retains the colonial charm that makes many Mérida homes magical but has been updated with all modern conveniences. Lovingly restored by an acclaimed local architect, it has over 525 square meters of living space and includes 5 bedrooms and 5 full bathrooms. You are welcomed to the house by our very own Mexican cantina decorated with unique art entirely sourced from México. The cantina has all you will need to entertain including multiple beverage refrigerators, an ice maker, and all the tools of the trade for you to become the resident tabanero. The cantina adjoins the media room with theater-style seating, fun art from the world of entertainment, and a massive television with sound system. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped for any chef with a 6 burner stove and griddle and all the equipment you could desire to make gourmet meals. The dining room table is a massive live-edge table, which comfortably seats 10...more if you are friendly. You can enjoy full views of the pool and garden area from the comfort of the dining room. The two bedrooms on the first floor of the restored house featured "hanging" king-sized beds. These beds are a combination of a hammock and a mattress bed that can rock you softly to sleep. Each room in the restored house has original pasta tiles, original vigas (beams) and mostly original doors. The house dates from 1911 and you can feel the history of the home while enjoying the comfort of modern living. The back "casita" is newly constructed and includes the master bedroom suite, a fully equipped private gym, and a second master bedroom suite upstairs. The ensuite master bathroom features a soaker hammered copper bathtub and hammered copper sinks. The patio area features a one of kind grill and smoker designed and built by artist George Samuleson along with a huge pool capable of cooling off a large family. You could even swim laps in the pool and journey under the beautiful feature wall and into one of the best home gyms you are likely to encounter. The large fifth bedroom, with two queen sized beds and ensuite bathroom, are on the second floor of the "restored" house and are accessible via a spiral staircase. There are two laundry rooms, one off the patio area and one next to the 5th bedroom. The fifth bathroom services the common areas and is accessible from the gym and the patio areas. Most of the art and furniture in Casa Tres Dragones was custom-made for the home from local artisans and artists or artists from México at large. Each room is its own unique space that takes advantage of the soaring ceilings and open spaces while facilitating the movement of even the largest groups. Rates include daily maid service, pool cleaning three times a week, and gardening service as necessary. One secured parking spot is reserved in the parking lot just across the street. All utilities, including electricity, are included. You will be able to access the entire home, with the exception of the office and certain storage areas and will not share the space with any other visitors. You can use the deluxe kitchen equipment and appliances including a Jura coffee machine to prepare a satisfying breakfast to start your day. Coffee, creamer, and sweeteners are provided. In addition, some beers, beverages, and snacks are provided so you can start your vacation immediately upon arriving -- no need to run to the nearest store for these basics. You can also purchase wine and liquors from our fully stocked bar at additional cost or hire our concierge to shop for all the things you desire to make your vacation perfect. Don't worry about the basics in the bathrooms either. We provide hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and high-quality towels, face cloths, and hand towels. High-speed wifi is available throughout the house with a strong consistent signal. Cable TV, Netflix access, multiple Bluetooth speakers, and an integrated home sound system are provided for your entertainment needs. Guest access All of our guests are welcome to the entirety of the home and have access to use anything on the property including the kitchen, pool, and any other amenities. The house is not shared with any other occupants or pets, so you can enjoy privacy during your stay. Please respect the property. We love Casa Tres Dragones and we are sure you will too! Deposit: A deposit is charged and held when the reservation is made to cover any damage during the stay. An additional security deposit will be required for stays longer than one month. Maid fee: For rentals in excess of 1 week, weekly cleaning as well as pool maintenance will be provided at no extra charge. Contact us if you are interested in additional cleaning for an extra fee. Electricity is included for stays of 2 weeks or less; and for stays of longer than 2 weeks, no electricity is charged unless the usage greater is USD$3 a day for the 1BR or 2BR homes, or USD$5 a day for the larger homes. Pet fee: One small (under 15kg) pet is welcome, but the guest is responsible for all damage caused by their pets. An extra pet fee of $75 will be charged.
