Lake Dora Cottage!

We are located 1 house behind Lake Dora's lakefront, only a 1 mile scenic drive to Downtown Mr. Dora! We renovated this vintage lakeside cottage. It was originally a 1940's fish camp! The Cottage is detached from the main home with an enclosed private patio. The shoreline of the lake is PRIVATE PROPERTY WITH PRIVATE DOCKS. Guests have public access points. ****SERVICE ANIMALS ARE NOT ALLOWED*** We live on the property and therefore, it is not considered a public accommodation. The space Inside the cottage.... Our guests ALWAYS compliment us on how CLEAN our cottage is. We take pride in our home and love to share our high standards with others. Many of our guests rave about the COMFORT of the queen size bed in the bedroom and the great water pressure in the shower. We installed blackout thermal curtains that will ensure a great nights sleep, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. In the living room is a queen size sofa sleeper. So many guests are surprised and impressed at how comfortable it is. We have two ductless mini split AC/Heater/Dehumidifier systems. They will keep you comfy during all seasons regardless of occasional extremes and varied the weather can get. We have the latest technology and a comfortable work space over looking the vast green space, garden, and bird feeders with fast reliable high speed internet including an ethernet cable for you digital nomads. Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen and a full size refrigerator with everything you will need to prepare a delicious meal. Outdoors.... The cottage is on our half acre property, allowing you plenty of privacy and lots of outdoor seating allowing you a partial view of Lake Dora, while you enjoy the lake breeze under the shade trees. At night the trees are lit with hanging lights providing a romantic spot to enjoy a glass of wine. No worries, we have mosquito repellents hidden around the outdoor seating area for your comfort. The outdoors is what Florida is all about, especially in the winter. On those chilly winter nights (chilly by Florida standards...lol), we like to occasionally build a bon fire and get to know our guests, if they choose to join us. If you're a nature lover, wake up to the sound of birds singing. You will love the parade of different kinds birds every morning around the feeders and the bird bath. We get flocks of beautiful Florida Cranes too! On occasion, you will spot bald eagles as well. Our property has tropical fruit trees, a veg garden, beautiful native florals, butterflies and comedic squirrels. It's a great place to get away from the big city rat race, and relax "Old Florida" style. We live in an extremely safe exclusive neighborhood. Park in our half circle driveway. There are security cameras throughout the exterior of the property for your safety. ****SERVICE ANIMALS ARE NOT ALLOWED*** We live on the property and therefore, it is not considered a public accommodation. The Guest Suite is connected to the the main home. Checking in with a Service Animals is considered breaking the House Rules. ****We have a second listing on the property that is not part of the cottage. The cottage is independent and private. Guest access We are equipped for self check in. There is only one step to get into the cottage from the patio, and another tiny step outside the patio. We provide private parking for one passenger vehicle. Private docks.... There are private boat docks all along Lake Dora that belong to our neighbors. We kindly ask our guests not to use them. We are thankful that our neighbors are supportive of us sharing our home with our guests, so we are very mindful of not intruding on their privacy or their private property. Guests are welcome to walk or bike ride along the lake on the public road. There are public spots for lake access that we will happy to share with you when you book. Other things to note SEASONAL COMFORTS... We are diligent with pest control and for those pesky months we have mosquitos and critters. We installed mosquito zappers close to the entry. In the winter we make sure you have extra bedding and the ductless mini splits are heater and dehumidifiers for the humid summers. We have also installed thermal blackout curtains in the bedroom to keep your warm or extra cool during those hot summer nights. We have thought of everything for you! As lifetime Floridians we know the drill so you don't need to. PARKING AND PROXIMITY TO DOWNTOWN MOUNT DORA...No worries we provide free parking. Don't want to bother with the hassle of finding downtown parking? Take a 5 minute Uber ride downtown and enjoy seeing Mount Dora on a scenic boat tour. Or, how about a Seaplane Tour? It's all within 5 to 10 minutes away. If you're a bike riding enthusiast downtown is a 1 mile bike ride away.
