Description
"The Jetty", once a WWII building, now a beautifully renovated beachside retreat. This 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom stay sleeps 4 and sits right on the sand. Unwind on the deck, sip by the fire pit, and take in stunning views of Moreton Bay and the Glass House Mountains. Rinse off in the outdoor shower after a swim, pure bliss!! The space Originally built during World War II, "The Jetty" has been thoughtfully renovated into a charming, off-grid beachside escape. Located steps from a vehicle free beach on Moreton Island, this eco-friendly home offers breathtaking views of Moreton Bay and the Glass House Mountains. Inside, you'll find an open-plan kitchen and dining area that opens directly onto a spacious patio, perfect for enjoying meals, firing up the BBQ, or relaxing around the fire pit under the stars. The house features two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and the other with two double beds, comfortably sleeping up to four guests. This beach house runs entirely on solar power, and all water is collected from rain. Guests are kindly asked to be mindful of their usage to help preserve the natural beauty of the island. Please do not bring electrical appliances, especially heat-generating items such as hairdryers, toasters, or kettles, as they can overload the solar system. After a day on the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower and soak in the serenity. Whether you're here to unwind, explore, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings, "The Jetty" offers a truly memorable island experience. Guest access A 4WD is required to access this property. There is no taxi service available to transfer guests from the MICAT ferry to the property. Other things to note Travel to Moreton Island is via: MICAT Ferry (passenger + 4WD): Arrives at The Wrecks, approx. 2km from Tangalooma. If bringing a vehicle, bookings must be made in advance via the Moreton Island Adventures website. Important: There is no taxi service from MICAT to the property. A 4WS vehicle is required. A starter pack of basic items is provided. As this is a self-catering property, please bring food, kitchen supplies, and toiletries based on your needs. There are no supermarkets on Moreton Island. Mobile reception on Moreton Island is limited, with some areas having no coverage at all. Whilst reception on the beach is generally ok, if you plan to explore the island, we strongly recommend downloading maps or any online resources in advance. This property is entirely off-grid, relying on solar panels and batteries for power, rainwater tanks for drinking water, bore water for other uses, and a septic system for waste management. To ensure a smooth stay, guests are asked to read the house compendium thoroughly upon arrival, which contains important information on how to use these systems effectively. Please do not bring any electrical appliances, especially those that generate heat (e.g. hair dryers, straighteners, rice cookers, electric fry pans), as they can overload the solar system. No Schoolies accepted.
