Completely updated house with hard wood floors throughout this unique home keeps its original charm while its location is a perfect base for exploring the Washington DC area. Three queen beds sleep 6 people comfortably. A welcoming front porch and large back deck are perfect places to unwind after a long day of sightseeing. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). The home has been completely renovated while keeping its original charm. All hard wood floors have been refinished. The two bathrooms have been updated and entire home painted. Three bedrooms contain queen beds while a new large sectional in the living room could sleep two more for a total of 8 quests. In addition to both renovated bathrooms, the modern kitchen, and dining room are at your disposal as well as a washer and dryer in the basement. There is one bedroom that is not available. Large, newly landscaped and fenced backyard awaits you with a massive deck and gas grill. Additionally a large driveway is available for off street parking. Six cars can fit in the driveway. The garage is not available to renters. Long term rentals, I would meet you/family at the house to introduce myself and give you a tour of the home. Regardless of the length of your stay, someone will always be available to assist you. A lock box with a key is located on the front porch. Additional keys are provided inside. I live close by and am available by phone or in person to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I encourage communication during the rental process for the benefit of both sides, but will not intrude on your privacy. The house is yours. However, I enjoy meeting those who stay and enjoy my home. On the dining room table you will find two books. I have put together an information book for your convenience with instructions for operating procedures for the TV/Internet, points of interest in the area, transportation & schedules as well as my favorite restaurant and stores in the area. I also have a guest book, left on the dining room table. I would appreciate you signing it after your stay. No last names needed. This will provides me and future guests with feedback on your experience in my home and help me make future stays as enjoyable as possible. This charming completely renovated two story brick and stone home is located in the historic neighborhood of Glencarlyn, Arlington, Virginia. George Washington was the surveyed the neighborhood in 1784. There are a number of historic markers within the neighborhood. This home is located 8 miles from the White House and the National Mall. It is 6.8 miles from Regan International Airport National, 9.5 miles from Union Station and 23 miles from Dulles International Airport. Ballston Metro stop is 1.5 miles from the house. Glencarlyn is unique in that it is a cul-de-sac community of five blocks square surrounded by Four Mile Run Park. The park has a playground with many biking/walking trails. These trails connect with others leading to Mount Vernon in one direction and Dulles Airport in the other. Serious walkers and bikers will appreciate the asphalt covered trails through the woods and to urban areas such as Shirlington. Although the home is located 15 minutes from the White House, the surrounding woods has deer, red fox and other woodland animals as well as a multitude of bird species for bird watchers and outdoor adventurers. Long Branch Nature Center is a 11 minute walk from the home through the park. Carlin Hall, built in 1892, is across the street and serves as our community center and preschool. The hall has a nice playground that is great for kids and is open to the public. Around the corner from Carlin Hall is Glencarlyn Library, a branch of Arlington Public Library. My home is 15 minutes to the White House by car and located just 1.5 miles from the Ballston Metro stop. There is a bus stop two blocks from the house that will take you to Ballston Metro in under 10 minutes. If you do not care to take the bus, there is also a large parking garage at Ballston Commons Mall. The rate is $10/day. It is a five minute walk to the metro from there. It takes about five minutes to obtain an Uber ride
