Description

Situated in the heart of Matlock Bath (accessible by train), this unique cosy but spacious cottage has a wealth of original features and a secure walled garden, with a sunny deck and courtyard. Beautifully furnished, with an eclectic mix of contemporary, vintage and antique French furniture. There are 3 bedrooms, upstairs bathroom - freestanding bath/toilet+downstairs shower room/toilet. Matlock Bath is a perfect base for exploring the Peak District, with beautiful walks from the cottage door. The space The cottage kitchen - integrated washing machine, dishwasher, fan oven, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and a Nespresso coffee machine. The spacious kitchen diner has an original quarry tiled floor. Downstairs WC/shower room with a ‘rain shower’. The sitting room has wonderful views across the river Derwent and valley. Comfy seating including a Chesterfield sofa, a snuggle chair and an Italian leather armchair. There is a beautiful fireplace and a 43 inch Freesat Smart TV and DVD player. Bedroom 1 - French antique king size bed with a matching armoire. Bedroom 2 - French double bed, large wardrobe. Bedroom 3 - bunk beds, drawers. The bathroom has a luxurious freestanding bath with freestanding taps. Bed Linen is included. Outside there are two lovely sunny walled gardens with a mixture of prairie and cottage style planting + beautiful views across the river and valley towards Riber. The decked area is the perfect space to dine and relax, or have a snooze on the sun loungers in the cottage garden, cushions are available. For cyclists there is a secure brick bike store available on request. A well behaved and house trained furry friend is welcome, but please ask at the time of booking. Guest access Guests have the entire house and gardens to themselves. Other things to note No smoking is allowed within the cottage. Electric vehicles are not to be charged from the cottage. There are local charging points available. We welcome one well behaved dog, but kindly ask they are not left alone in the cottage or allowed on the furniture/beds. During the winter feather duvets and pillows are provided for extra comfort and warmth, please get in touch at the time of booking if you would prefer alternatives. All bedding is washed at high temperatures. Please bring your own towels, 2 hand towels and bath mats will be provided. If it is not possible for you to bring towels due to travelling by train or airplane please do get in touch. The property will comfortably accommodate 6 guests. An additional baby/toddler can be accommodated in the travel cot provided, however we do not provide bedding for the cot. The cottage is situated on a hill with 5 steps down to the property. There is a handrail down to the property to assist. The shops and restaurants are down hill walk away. The walk back is steep but short (approximately 5 minutes). Free parking is available on Waterloo Road, Temple Road and surrounding streets. Parking is usually available, but is on a first come first served basis. There is also a public car park a 5 minute walk away which charges £1.50 between 6pm and 8am.
