We offer our home to a maximum of 4 people including the kids. Do not book if your group has more than four. Great neighborhood perfect for a small family or couple looking for a beach getaway. Conveniently located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills in a sought-after "between the highways" neighborhood where you can easily walk to the beach! Our cottage is across from the must-see Wright Brothers National Park! The best location to access everything you want to do while on the Outer Banks! The space You will quickly find a favorite spot at this cottage- Shaded area below features an old-fashioned swing and a small picnic table...the east side of the cottage has a refreshing outdoor bath house with hot and cold water...inside find comfy beds and a spacious living area with lots of windows and natural light...the upper deck has views of the ocean and the Wright Brothers monument...and my favorite space- the front porch. Wherever you decide to spend your cottage time, you will find yourself in love with Lauren's Whelk and its Outer Banks vibe. Enjoy our clean, comfortable, affordable accommodations and make memories to last a lifetime. Please note our house rules prohibit us from accommodating more than 4 guests total. No grad parties/teen drop off's. Mature guests only. Guest access Guests have access to all areas except locked owners closets. Other things to note This is a true Airbnb- a home owned and managed by its owners. Take caution when you are searching if that is what you are looking for because many of the listings will lead you straight to a property management company, which most guests are trying to avoid. Beach accesses- one of the reasons we love this cottage! There is direct beach access on this street and there are beach accesses in walking distance, in either direction north or south, free parking, rinse off areas, and lifeguards (in season). So whether you prefer a super short stroll or packing up your whole car, these accesses are some of the best. The Ocean Bay Blvd access also has a full bath house and is the only fully handicap-accessible access on the beach. It also has the Stop n Shop which serves up fresh deli sandwiches all day- breakfast too! See our Guidebook for more info on recommended beach accesses. At the cottage you will find some get-started items already in place consisting of a roll of paper towels and a roll of TP for each bathroom. Bath towels: 2 sets of towel/washcloth per guest are provided.
