El Pajar, Bohemian Hideaway rural retreat

El Pajar is one of two houses (the other being La Labranza), that are part of the Bohemian Hideaway finca/estate on the island of Gran Canaria. Once a dilapidated Canarian farmhouse, the 150 year old building was restored in 2006 and was granted a license by the islands tourist board to open as a rural holiday home. The space Once the farmhouse stables and later used as storage for drying tobacco, El Pajar has been beautifully renovated to receive guests. The house features a living/dining/kitchen room space that is a fusion of modern design classics with traditional architecture. Wooden Wishbone chairs from Hans J. Wegner compliment the dining table illuminated by an Artishoc lamp from Louis Poulsen that hangs from a wooden beam. Wallpapers from England's Cole & Son, as well as colours from Farrow and Ball, decorate the rooms. The master bedroom has two comfortable single beds, a wardrobe, an electronic safe, and an Air-con system with cooling and hot functions. El Pajar has all of the modern comforts of home and can host up to 4 guests in two separate double bedrooms, (the secondary bedroom having its own private ensuite WC and washbasin). There is the option to add an extra guest on the sofabed. The finca has a large pool and garden area, with sun beds to relax under the sun, as well as parasols and trees for shade. There is also an outdoor BBQ kitchenette area with a washing sink, table and chairs. El Pajar features: • Private veranda with seating and wooden table • Breakfast table shaded by an old olive tree • Main bedroom - 2 comfortable single beds with white linen, a large wardrobe, bedside drawers, electronic safe, Air-con, electric heater, extinguisher • Kitchen area - ceramic cooker, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, Nespresso Essenza mini machine, coffee filter machine, kettle, toaster, juicer, pots & pans, crockery & cutlery, condiments basket, extinguisher • Living/dining area - sofa, armchairs, table and 4 chairs, TV/DVD, electric heater, games and films on request • Bathroom - L'OCCITANE toiletries, towels, big open shower, washbasin, toilet, medical kit, hair dryer • Secondary bedroom - comfortable double bed with white linen, a private WC with hand basin, a large wardrobe, bedside drawers, electric heater and fan • Garden terrace - Swimming pool, sun beds, parasols, BBQ kitchenette with running water & sink, tables & chairs, olive and palm trees. Please note: the garden and pool area are shared spaces between El Pajar and La Labranza guests • Free private parking for guests • Pets permitted upon request Guest access The finca has a large communal pool and garden area with sunbeds to relax under the sun, as well as parasols and trees for shade. As of 2019, we have a second outdoor terrace area away from the pool with extra sunbeds, a dining table, and space to practice yoga/pilates (mats provided) with spectacular views of the mountains. An outdoor BBQ kitchenette area with a washing sink, table and chairs are also here for all our guests to enjoy. Please note: the garden, the pool area and the new outdoor terrace are shared spaces between La Labranza and El Pajar guests. Other things to note For those wishing to book with larger groups of family and friends, El Pajar can be rented together with, La Labranza house, the second house on the finca.
