Gite Canigou is the largest of 4 gites on the property, newly and tastefully renovated apartment within an ancient Catalan farmhouse at 1000m altitude set in 50 hectares of forest and pastures. La Taillede is for groups or families who are lovers of nature, wildlife, peace, fresh mountain air & incredible views. We have lots of friendly animals and look forward to sharing this amazing place with like minded people. The space Gite Canigou is on the first floor of the main house with it's own private entrance, terrace with BBQ, table & benches to seat 6, 2 sun loungers and a large bench with cushions. The wood fired hot tub (made here at La Taillede using our own wood) is for Gite Canigou's private use. There are 3 beautiful bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with Tudor style walls, wooden beams in the ceilings and the mountain forming interesting rock formations on the back walls. This makes the bedrooms quiet, warm and cosy in the winter and cool in the summer. All beds can be made either into Super King doubles or large singles. The extensive and light open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room has stunning south facing views of the Vallespir. There is WiFi, board games and a television with hundreds of pre-recorded movies and tv shows. La Taillede is a working ecological farm; we have lots of animals, both farm and domestic, and guests are welcome to interact with them. We also have a large vegetable garden which children might like to help out in, and the produce is for sale when we have surplus. Please note; If you need more rooms for family/friends, we have also have a similar 2 bedroom gite (Gite Carlit) on the top floor and 2 one bedroom apartments on the ground floor of the main house; plus a yurt in it's own field (summer only). Guest access Guests have access to the whole apartment, 2 level terrace, the hot tub and 51 hectares of land! We also have a beautiful large swimming pool for shared use (12 x 6 metres). There is a wonderful masseuse and energy healer on site. Please enquire for details. Other things to note Access The apartment is on the first floor with stairs going up to the front door.
