Hare House' is a warm, beautifully decorated lodge set in glorious countryside, but within walking distance of shops, cafes and pubs in the ancient town of Wilton. Perfect for couples seeking total relaxation. Snuggle up in front of the Swedish log burner and sleep in a super king size bed with luxurious bed linen. Perfect base for Stonehenge, Salisbury, New Forest, Bath and Dorset beaches - in easy driving distance. The space Hare House is a spacious, beautifully decorated, warm lodge, set alongside the River Nadder in Wiltshire. It is surrounded by countryside with views of the river, water meadows and my contentedly grazing sheep. Although it is adjacent to our own property, it is designed to give you complete privacy and a feeling of calm and peace. Hare House has a fully equipped kitchen with all the cooking equipment and basics you need to self cater. If you want a break from cooking we are lucky to have two excellent pub / restaurants within 5 minutes walk: The Greyhound Inn and The Pembroke Arms. Cafes in the village and within a short drive provide hearty breakfasts. Frequent buses pass through Wilton making it very possible to arrive without a car if you prefer. Hare House has a luxury bathroom (toiletries provided), and a very spacious combined living and bedroom with wonderful views of the meadows. The efficient heating and log burner means you are always always warm and cosy. You have SMART TV and DVD player with good selection of DVDs; wifi, and plenty of good books to read! You can link your 'phone to our Airplay sound system and stream your favourite music, while you snuggle up in from of the Swedish log-burner in the cooler days and evenings. The lodge is flooded with natural light and many guests report that they feel immediately calmed by the tranquility of Hare House and its setting within the countryside and our garden. Eat your meals on our South facing verandah, with views of the beautiful Italianate church and river, in the warmer months. Or sit on your own jetty alongside the River Nadder. Or, if you are inclined - take a swim in our own river plunge pool. One of Hare House's most unique features is that you feel that you are in the depths of the countryside with far-reaching views, abundant wildlife and peace and quiet. Yet you are less than five minutes walk from a range of shops, including two supermarkets, a bakery, and a selection of good pub/restaurants and coffee shops. We want you to sleep well and feel comfortable during your stay. The bed is a Hypnos 6ft super king size. We provide Egyptian cotton sheets, quality towels and toiletries to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. A welcome pack is provided with milk, bread, butter, coffee (ground and instant), teas. A starter pack of coffee pods for your Nespresso coffee machine is provided, together with a cafetière. Cooking oils and kitchen larder basics are free for you to use. A Swedish log burner is perfect for cosy Winter nights and we provide free logs for your use during your stay. Secure on-site private parking. Guest access The cabin is adjacent to our family home but you have a very private entrance and outdoor seating area. You also have your own private garden and jetty overlooking the river for sundowners. You have secure private parking. We have a large garden, in which you are welcome to wander, and far reaching views of the Wiltshire countryside. The River Nadder flows through the garden. You can walk from the garden through the fields and along the River Nadder where you may see herons; deer; kingfishers; water vole and other wildlife. We have resident swans (Will and Kate), a small flock of friendly sheep and an adorable working cocker spaniel called Flo. Other things to note Parking for guests is on our property and is secure. We have a wide range of walking guides, maps and tourist information in the Lodge. We are very happy to offer suggestions or advice on places to visit. We have a DVD player and offer access to Netflix, Amazon Prime (using your own accounts) and a good selection of DVDs. Please NOTE: the washing and drying machines are not in the lodge, but in our adjacent property in an accessible place. You will need to arrange access with us.
