The space MERLIN COTTAGE, at the Old Bakery gites, is a spacious fully renovated well appointed traditional Breton stone gite for up to 7 people located in the heart of Brittany in the village of Gomené, Côtes-d'Armor. It offers tranquil high quality accommodation and is set in over an acre of stunning gardens with heated swimming pool ( open 1st May to end September). The cottage maintains its traditional charm with exposed beams and character stone walls. Beautiful rural setting but accessible from St. Malo and Caen ferries (1h15 and 2h25 respectively) and Dinard and Rennes airports (1h20 and 50 minutes respectively). The gite is self catering. THE ACCOMODATION consists of a spacious downstairs open-plan kitchen, living and dining area that is well equipped with all manner of crockery , cookware ,and glassware The kitchen includes oven, microwave and dishwasher .There is a wood burner downstairs as well as electric heating. There are windows with views across farmland and woodland to the rear and the gardens to the front and patio doors leading to your private outdoor dining and BBQ area. A spiral staircase leads to the upstairs which consists of three spacious bedrooms , and a spacious shower room with toilet. Bedroom one has a four poster double bed and views over the gardens. Bedroom two has a double bed and views over farmland and forest. Bedroom 3 is quite roomy and has a single bed and a set of single bunks ( 3 single beds in all). All bedrooms and the bathroom have electric heating .A cot , high chair and baby bath are also available on request. All linens and towels are provided except for pool / beach towels that are available for hire . Swim in pool or relax on the sun loungers. Positioned in the gardens and not overlooked ,the heated pool benefits from a heat dome that is removable on sunny days but left in place if you are unlucky with the weather so that swimming can continue on less agreeable days. Sun-loungers and pool furniture in place. Open Summer Season Only - from 1st May to end of September subject to water temperatures. The gite is within the grounds of our former farmhouse and bakery and you will have full access to over an acre of stunning landscaped gardens with countryside and forest views . The grounds are set up for your enjoyment and you are welcome to stay on site all day to take advantage of the facilities if you wish. Your gite benefits from its own private seating and BBQ area but there is also a large covered BBQ and entertainments area in the grounds. Set amongst the boarders, pathways and orchard you will find numerous seating areas, a boule court, swing and slide activity frame , trampoline, badminton, goal net, and numerous outdoor games are available including table tennis, croquet, darts, skittles and cricket. If you're looking for a restful place to spend the day or return to at the end of a days sightseeing or activities for a family or larger group we could be the place for you.
