Cabin in Gays Mills
Description
Settle into a quaint farmhouse nestled in a valley in the rolling, forested hills of the Driftless Region. Start your day with a cup of local coffee on the front porch. Go on a long walk or bike ride, then return to the cottage to cook, play board games, listen the record collection or visit Viroqua (25 minutes) for a farm-to-table 5-star dinner, or check out local music. Build a warm fire outdoors/ warm up by the gas stove indoors, or go down to the stream for a sauna by the cool water creek. The space The farmhouse was featured in "Amazing Airbnb Cabins for the Perfect Midwest Getaway" by Chicago's Time Out Magazine. The home is near Kickapoo River, Wisconsin Orchards and Viroqua. There are many festivals in the region throughout the year and there is a vibrant local music and arts community. ATV's are allowed on the roads surrounding the property, or bring your bike. One pet allowed. Guest access Guests have access to the full property, and should familiarize themselves with property lines through the map in the guest book. Hosts are happy to assist. Other things to note We now have high-speed internet! Please note that the house is small and intimate. Although it has two bedrooms, it is better suited to families than groups of couples, unless comfortable with sharing small bathroom, no door on upper bedroom, creaky old floors, etc. Some adult groups of 4 do love it, but some may be happier in a larger house in the region. Also, note that the house is typical for its age, and the inside staircase is steep. Additionally, consider whether you are comfortable with a clawfoot tub and shower head. We are working on a bathroom renovation soon, but not all guests like the setup. Nature enthusiasts and artists don't tend to mind, but it's not for everyone (check back if this is an issue for you. The renovation will be lovely. We do pride ourselves on white fluffy towels and high quality linens.
