You are steps away from our lush, tropical gardens with a direct path to the surf at the quiet Playa Negra beach. The villa sleeps 2 people. Take a 20 –minute stroll down the beach, or a 5-minute car ride, to the bohemian, laid-back & culturally-diverse town of Puerto Viejo. Puerto Viejo offers delicious restaurants, fun shopping, and opportunities for surfing, jungle hikes, river-rafting, zip-lines, chocolate tours, animal sanctuary, yoga classes, snorkeling, horseback riding, and paddle boarding. Karen, one of the owners, lives onsite & our wonderful Manager Jamie lives close by. We are as accessible as you need or want us to be. We also offer concierge services to assist you with activities, taxis, shuttles, sunset dinners on the beach, massages on your deck, private chefs, and more. Playa Negra, a 10-mile stretch of beach running from Puerto Viejo to Puerto Vargas in the Cahuita National Park, is largely deserted (just as it was in the 1970s!) The sea floor out in front of the cottage is all black sand (it is magnetic and said to have healing properties), and no rocks. Taxis ($4 to town), bicycles, and walking are the main options of getting around. Most tours will pick up and drop off at Villas Serenidad. The town is loaded with many delicious restaurants...you'd have to return to try them all! Ocean front villas with large shared garden space.
