Casa Allison is a new, single story 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home, nestled in the jungle near the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. From the base of the property there is a path to North Pelada beach (about a five minute walk). You can hear the waves crashing in Pelada from the home's terrace which has a gorgeous salt water infinity pool overlooking pristine jungle. Wifi, electricity and weekly maid service are included, as well as trash and recycling pick up at the end of the driveway. Full disclosure: we designed this house in imitation of a rental we once saw and absolutely loved. It is the perfect layout for family gathering, relaxing, or just enjoying some quiet time alone. The folding doors that connect the interior and exterior spaces can be stowed away leaving one contiguous living space, from kitchen to pool, outside, and all on one level. Because of our secluded location, we recommend renting a vehicle of some kind--ATV, car, or golf cart--to get to the grocery stores or into Guiones. The Lagarta Lodge is an easy walk on a footpath through the forest, and Il Pepperoni and La Luna are about a 15 minutes' walk by the road into lower Pelada. The key will be left for you in a lockbox, and there is a blue binder on the kitchen counter with helpful information. From the entrance to the house, follow the dead end road to the Boca overlook and onwards down a footpath to access either Playa Pelada or Boca Nosara. At low tide you can cross the river and arrive on Playa Nosara, a black sand beach where only local fisherman and a handful of surfers can be seen. Playas Nosara and Ostional are rich, protected area of Costa Rica's Pacific coastline. Their black sands and deserted ocean stretch as far as you can see, culminating in the turtle nesting grounds of Ostional. Inland along this stretch is the SIBU reserve, an enormous parcel of protected jungle. Casa Allison abuts a five acre parcel of pristine, protected jungle before it merges with the Ostional Wildlife Refuge. The few neighbors we have are locals; for this reason we are asking our tenants to be respectful of the quiet in this special location. For those who prefer loud music and raucous gatherings, we would recommend a stay in Guiones. But for those who would rather avoid the hustle and bustle of Guiones altogether, or just not have it come home with them after a day of surfing, this location is ideal. We always say, the shortest distance between any two points in the Guiones/Pelada area is by the beach. If you are an avid walker, you can reach Guiones by the beach in about 35 minutes. Our quick path to North Pelada beach leaves you with two options: go left to pass Playa Peladas--Olgas, La Luna, Nosara Beach Hotel--where you can take the path up and over the ridge to arrive on the beach in North Guiones. OR you can take a right to leave Pelada behind passing El Golfo, bat caves, the boca, Playa Nosara, and eventually Playa Ostional.
