Live Large in small spaces. This is a Mother-in-Law Studio with marble tile bathroom shower. Although this is a studio in the daylight basement, it is very light filled with a wonderful view of Lake Washington. A great neighborhood for strolls down to the Lake or even to downtown Seattle. 3 parks are within a 2 to 8 minute walk. A small neighborhood shopping strip with coffee shops and restaurants, literally a minute walk from your front door. 3 Bus lines are also a 2 to 4 minute walk The space This is the daylight basement unit of a brand new contemporary home. All new appliances. The washer and dryer room is the only room that is shared between this and another unit. Each party can lock their own door but this is the ONLY shared portion of the house. My partner and I live in the unit above this one so traffic above you is generally light and we go to bed around 9:30-10pm. I took every precaution to mitigate sound but vibration of foot traffic still can be heard even with the precautions, as can be expected in a ground floor unit. And although voices and tv sound is rarely heard between units occasionally sound still can travel so I always want people to know this and to make sure that you and the us are respectful of quiet hours. The bathroom is on a waste ejector which is common for Seattle. I say this so that people know that only toilet paper can be flushed down the toilets. No wipes or dental floss etc can go down the toilet or the waste ejector could fail. Again, this isn't something you would even know a difference. I am taking the time to mention it only to prevent any issues because someone did flush a wipe. Past that, this is still a work in progress. Where many places of just a view of another building in city, this unit has a wonderful view of Lake Washington. The pictures are accurate as we took them ourselves with basic phone camera so no wide angle lens or anything. ;-) As we say, it is is live large in small space and that is what we mean, it is approximately 170 sq feet (+or-) but designed so that one has everything they need. For those who can't envision what 170 sq feet is, the unit is approximately 17 ft long by 10 ft wide. (I hope that helps) The bed is a Murphy bed that pulls over the couch. It should be noted that this is a horizontal Murphy bed as opposed to a vertical bed. So one can't use the couch and the bed at the same time. And if there are two people, one person has to climb over the other if they go to the bathroom in the middle night. I just like to make sure people have an accurate understanding before they stay here. I don't find the bed to be challenging to pull down, I know some one has asked that question. This unit has a kitchenette instead of a full kitchen. That means there isn't a range, but there is an induction counter top hot plate in addition, there is also a counter top toaster oven that can handle a pizza even. There is a microwave as well as a small refrigerator. So it has everything one would need. Again, I want people to realize, this is a small unit; when the bed is down the couch is not accessible and when you are sitting on the couch you won't have access to the bed. I say this because I value honest communication and do not want people to be disappointed but rather pleasantly surprised. I have people live stay here for 9 months and said they found the space to be perfect for them, so it can work for long term stays. **I welcome longer term stays *** The back yard is not for the rental use however I do not mind people enjoying the view.
