Savour your Summer Vacation Nanoose Bay
Your vacation memories will be more affordable on Canada's gem Vancouver Island.
Description
Relax and explore our beautiful mid-Island surroundings. Our vacation condominium is located at the confluence of the ocean and a tidal estuary, and offers serene and mesmerizing scenery from it's three patios and many windows. Find a trail to hike, stroll the many beaches, join a whale-watching tour, or visit a nearby restaurant. The day is yours to seize! We offer a private, comfortable and beautifully curated home for you to enjoy as you savour all that Vancouver Island has to offer. The space The Foxglove recently underwent a "refresh". An updated kitchen, a fresh coat of paint throughout, 2 completely renovated bathrooms, some new flooring, a relaxing and laid back vibe...we welcome guests who are searching for a relaxing day of beach combing or an exhilarating day of hiking the many nearby trails and mountains. Whether you are looking for the serenity of the ocean, the solitude of the woods, the discovery of a vineyard, or the joy of a lazy river in an inner tube, The Foxglove is a relaxing, contemporary home to use as your jumping-off point. Our kitchen is outfitted with everything a home chef would need, including knives, higher-end pots and pans, Lodge dutch oven, KitchenAid mixer, coffee maker, stovetop espresso maker (Moka), toaster, kettle, rice cooker, and blender. We offer some important basics, such as coffee, tea, sugar, ketchup, mustard, lemon juice, vinegar, as well as herbs and spices (chili powder, cumin, oregano, bay leaves, cinnamon, onion granules and garlic powder), along with red and white wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and flour. Quantities are suitable for shorter stays (6-7 nights). The living room is contiguous with the kitchen/dining area, and offers a TV mounted on a swivel bracket, which has basic cable, as well as apps for a smart TV. Off the living room is a large glass-enclosed balcony; please be aware that small children could climb on a chair and fall, so supervision of small children on the balcony is a must at all times. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. The master features a king size bed, fireplace, a door to the main balcony, and a very spacious closet. The second bedroom offers a queen size bed, a seating area, and a hide-a-bed couch which pulls out into a double bed. This bedroom has a TV, and a spacious closet, as well as a small balcony with seating for two. Our current ensuite offers a soaker tub, separate toilet and shower, two separate sinks, and a fireplace. The second bathroom offers a toilet, sink and shower, and the laundry is tucked in behind closet doors. These bathrooms are dated, but are immaculately clean and are outfitted with luxurious shampoo, conditioner and body wash, as well as soft and comfortable bath linens. “Let’s do some laundry!” said no person on vacation, ever. But should guests need to do laundry, our home had a washer and dryer, along with pods, dryer balls, an ironing board, iron, and a drying rack. A stay at The Foxglove will include an Amenities Pass. We have purchased this in order to ensure guests have access(seasonal) to paddle boards, kayaks and bicycles during their stay. The pass also allows guests to use the indoor pool, hot tub and sauna, the fitness center, the outdoor hot tub and kiddie pool, as well as the pickle-ball court, billiards table and ping pong table. The extreme tides in our area means that the kayaks and paddleboards are only available for two hours before and two hours after high tide. If you wanted to paddleboard or kayak when the tide is out, you'd be walking a long long way to find water! The tides make for incredible beachcombing, but does limit watersports. Bookings cannot be made in advance, equipment is first-come, first-served. To sign out equipment or access the pool, visit the resort's front desk with the Amenities Pass which is in our suite. Paddle boards, bicycles and kayaks will be available into the fall, but will no longer be available once the weather turns. Please note, the indoor pool is closed on Mondays, and every day from 12:30-2:30. There is a partially covered gazebo at the waterfront, with two gas tabletop fireplaces; this is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the sunset and a glass of wine. Seating is limited, so be sure to head down early. We also offer two beach chairs, which can be taken down there (or anywhere), for your enjoyment. The home has west-facing windows in the living area and master bedroom, and during the summer months, it can get quite warm. There are three fans to help with this, and drawing the curtains during the afternoon will also keep the home cooler. A skylight blind over the dining room table can be drawn in the morning, before the sun gets high in the sky, which should help keep the home a bit cooler. The pole to open and close this blind will be located behind the curtain in the dining room. We have a free-standing air conditioner that is situated in the main living area, which is removed in cooler months. The venting for this unit renders the smallest balcony unusable. There is a similar unit in the masrer bedroom. We have also installed a window air conditioner in the queen bedroom, which again will be removed in the cooler months. Guest access Pacific Shores Resort and Spa currently does not have a spa on property. There is a restaurant on the property called "Pacific Moon Rising" which has a west-coast focused menu. Other things to note There is a Welcome Booklet, along with many publications on "what to do, where to go, who to see, and when to see it" located in The Foxglove. You can peruse this at your leisure. I hope that these options help you plan your experience, whatever it might be. Restaurants, golf, beaches, hikes, fishing, whale watching, shops and markets....we try to provide guests with as much information as we can via our extensive collection of brochures and pamphlets. If you would like some expert advice on anything specific, The Foxglove is located a short 3 minute drive from a BC Tourism Office. To get there, exit Pacific Shores Resort, take a right at the stop sign, another right onto Northwest Bay Road, and continue on until you see the office on your left. Of course, we are always happy to help as well, so please don't hesitate to call, text or email us! Registration Details Provincial registration number: H095981946
