The Catterton House is an 1826 historic house surrounded by beautiful mountains on a thoroughbred farm. A unique private space in the heart of Free Union and Fox Hunting Country! Close to Downtown Charlottesville, fabulous restaurants, UVa and SMJ hospitals and Monticello while staying in the most beautiful setting . My Dad's dream was Historic Catterton House. He moved it to Ruxton Farm and restored it. All rooms are original and very large along with 2 added upper and lower decks. The house is split into 2 private sections so only half of the house is part of the Airbnb. Everywhere you look, you are surrounded by gorgeous views - the orange and red colors of the sunset and sunrise will astound you! Horses and dogs can have their own space so please enjoy with your pets! Additional fees for your horse. There is an outside grilling/kitchen area complete with a dining table. Cornhole boards are available for loads of fun in the frontyard and two tables along with a fire pit in the circle just inside the woods for an evening after dinner drink! The Airbnb is composed of 2 large bedrooms and one full bathroom. Please be aware that bedrooms are adjoining and you must go through one bedroom to get to the bathroom in case this is not comfortable for your group. There is also a living room with a couch that folds down into a single bed if needed, 2 TVs, 2 large decks and outdoor grilling area complete with dining table, refrigerator, counter space, grilling utensils and outdoor cuisinart sink. There is not an indoor kitchen. Frontyard for entertaining - cornhole boards. The lower deck with grilling options and a nice size dinner table. Tables in the woods with a fire pit. The Airbnb is a large livingroom, 2 large bedrooms, good size bathroom, 2 large decks. The lower deck is equipped with outdoor grilling, grilling utensils, refrigerator dining table and sink. There is also a minifridge, microwave, coffee machine, snacks, water, wine and items in the refrigerator upstairs in one of the bedrooms. There is a TV upstairs and downstairs. We are close to fabulous wineries such as King Family, Glass House, Meriwether Springs Vineyard and Brewery, Grace Estate, Hark, Stinson, White Hall, Pippen Hill and Chisholm at Adventure Farm to name a few. Other activities - Biking trails at Rivanna, Kayak on Beaver Creek Lake, Monticello, Hiking Sugar Hollow and many more exciting places to explore, dine or visit. We are also very close to the Charlottesville/Albemarle Airport. The house is filled with beautiful antiques that have been collected and handed down over the years. The chimneys, windows, floors and walls are all 1826 originals. Please try not to scratch or damage the hardwood floors.
