There are a total of 6 bedrooms (5 king beds, 1 queen) & 3 full bathrooms, 2 half baths: a kitchen, living room and 3 bedrooms on each floor! Look out on miles of blue water from the huge upper deck, lower patio, & almost every room in the house. Watch every type of boat and barge go by. Fenced in yard. Walk down, fish and lounge on our 34'x27' boat dock. Pull a boat(s) to the side! Modern decor, high end appliances, custom showers, and a jetted tub. Have meals in the full dining room (4 extra chairs & a card table available) or the eat in kitchen with bay windows, or go outside and sit at the counter height patio tables on both the upper deck and lower patio. Grill for the group on a gas grill or sit nearly over the water on the platform patio going down to the lake. Enjoy privacy in each bedroom. We offer 4 rooms with king size memory foam mattresses, 2 with queens. A full sized crib and highchair are provided as well. Have groceries delivered via Instacart. You will have access to both the first and second floor of the house and all of the outside. We don't live on site but have a support team in place should any need arise. You'll love the peacefulness of this northwest corner of Alabama on the beautiful Tennessee River at Wheeler Lake, the second largest lake in Alabama stretching nearly 70 miles. Our house sits on the main water and Wheeler Lake is rated as a top fishing reservoir abundant with largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, blue catfish, bluegill, sunfish and crappie. Wheeler is also great for all kinds of water recreation activities like boating, tubing, skiing, and sailing. Unload your boat at Lucy's Branch Marina, just down the road and use our boat dock! The marina also has fuel, boat repair and a fully stocked ship's store. The boat and the slip on our dock isn't available for guest use (for liability reasons) but you are welcome to pull a rented or private boat up to the side of the dock during the day (just not overnight). Lucy's BARge offers good food and drinks, karaoke, and DJ nights, right on the water. A gas station/bait shop is just 5 miles away, a grocery store in Rogersville is just 7 miles away. We're in between and just a short drive from Florence, AL and Athens, AL, and both cities offer every convenience. We believe it's largely due to its history. This area was Chickasaw Indian land and then was settled by a diverse and harmonious community of African-Americans, whites, and Indians. Lucy Bedingfield is a woman largely celebrated here. She was the daughter of a slave & a Cherokee Indian, she was known as an avid storyteller and she married a former slave, and they had 9 children. She became a major landowner, owning 170 acres, right where you will be staying. It was farmland until the TVA bought it and created Wheeler Lake. We like to think our home stands on a foundation of respect for all cultures, and the strong principles of hard work, community, and strength of character. Great neighborhood for walking, biking, and running. Speed bumps keep travel speed down. Large driveway and you can park across the street on the grass. Our boat is in the boat lift but won't interfere with your use of the dock. Rent a pontoon just down the road at Lucy's Branch Marina.
