Stone's Throw Retreat is a cozy home that is ideal for families or close friends looking to get away from it all. It is conveniently located in a small neighborhood just “a stone’s throw” from Yosemite National Park, Bass Lake, Oakhurst and the Sierra National Forest. It's the ideal base for sightseeing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, boating, skiing, and dining. Stone's Throw Retreat is just 13 miles from Yosemite! This home’s vaulted ceiling makes it open, bright and spacious. From the living room and deck, you will have views of oak, cedar, and pine, and will often see deer, quail, or wild turkeys passing through! The deck is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view or the darkness of the mountain night sky. The bedrooms are cozy and well kept. The upstairs master bedroom includes a private bathroom and shower as well as a small deck for that early morning quite coffee time. The two downstairs bedrooms have plenty of room and share a full-size bathroom. What's provided: -The kitchen: Everything you need to prepare all of your at-home meals. -Towels, linens, blankets, hand and dish soaps. -Washer and dryer - we know that adventuring can get dirty! -Firewood for wood-burning stove. -Roku device for the flat screen TV. At Stone’s Throw Retreat you are a short 13-mile drive to Yosemite's South Entrance and the recently restored Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. Yosemite Valley, where you will see El Capitan, Half Dome, and Yosemite’s famous magnificent waterfalls is approximately a 1.5 hour drive through the scenic Sierras and the south end of Yosemite National Park. Bass Lake is just 5 miles away offering boat rentals, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, dining, and shopping. Or just hang out on the shore and enjoy the water and scenery. The nearby town of Oakhurst is just minutes away, where you will find numerous dining options, groceries, and shopping. Discover some of the many art galleries featuring local artists inspired by the beauty of the Sierras. In the winter months, don't forget snowboarding and skiing at Yosemite's nearby Badger Pass, or take a trip up to China Peak Ski Resort less than two hours away. For the best experience in Yosemite, arrive at the park before 1000 am to avoid long lines to get through the entrance gate. You are approximately 20 minutes from the South Entrance Station. If traveling to the area in the winter months, it is advised to have a vehicle that is equipped with Four-Wheel-Drive or All-Wheel-Drive and carry snow tire chains.
