Reconnect, disconnect and live simply in your canvas tent surrounded by nature. We are an off grid property and run solely on solar power and collecting water. The tents are tastefully and thoughtfully decorated keeping in mind your needs. No power but battery chargers, lanterns, LED string lights and candles keep it cozy. Cozy beds with linens make sleeping outside a dream. Art supplies, hammocks, shade, firepit & nature views make for a lovely getaway. Our only safari tent that can accommodate up to 4 people with a king bed and a queen bed. A private viewing deck, hammocks, swings, picnic table and firepit are key outdoor features this tent offers. All our accommodations are at least 50 yards away from each other to provide maximum privacy. Special to only this tent are art supplies, wood burning stove and a dining table. Each tent has their own unique carefully thought-out design with extra blankets, lounge seating, string lights, board games, fans and a propane heater for cooler nights. Battery packs to charge phones. Complimentary coffee/tea delivery service and breakfast is available for purchase. Communal spaces are a fully stocked kitchen, grilling deck, Adirondack seating area, modern bathrooms and a cedar barrel skylight bathroom. Bathrooms are a short distance from the tent, less than a 1 min walk. Complimentary sauna session and tubes are available to our guests. Strong Wifi available.We offer free Sunday morning yoga classes (mats provided) and live music around the campfire with smores Friday evenings. Astronomy tours twice a month (purchase tickets separate. In 2024, tour will be complementary to our guests). Check-in is 3:00pm or later. Check-out is 10:00am. **2 GUESTS MAX. You will receive a message 5 days prior with self checkin instructions, directions, and helpful information about our place. • Dogs only allowed in The Sugarloaf Pod. No tents and fees apply. No late checkins when traveling with your dog. LOCATION 40 mins South of Moab 40 mins from the entrance of The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park FIREWOOD & EXTRAS We sell firewood, propane tanks, fire starters and breakfast. All these MUST be purchased during open hours, 9am- 7pm. We do not sell these items after 7pm or before 9am. You may email or text Keshia if you know you will want to purchase outside these hours and we can charge the card on file. COMMUNAL BATHROOMS The off grid solar powered bathroom is the building directly in front of the parking lot and next to the office. We have 1 full bathroom, 1 toilet room, 1 shower room and 1 seasonal glass roof barrel full bathroom (closed during freezing temps) We also haul water so we ask that you are mindful of your usage. We provide towels, hand towels, toilet paper and organic bath amenities. COMMUNAL KITCHEN We have a fully stocked kitchen for you to prepare meals. No power so no refrigerator. We have coolers for you to borrow. WE DO NOT HAVE ICE. We also have an outdoor grilling area with camp chef supplies. Camp over, flattop, pizza oven and small BBQ box. *The grocery store in Monticello (Blue Mountain Foods) is closed on Sundays. ACCOMMODATIONS -There is no insulation inside the accommodations so whatever the temperature is outside, it will be inside as well. Each accommodation has: -Queen Bed with sheets, 4 pillows and duck down comforter (Desert Sunset has a king and queen bed) ~ Extra blankets ~ Lounge chairs for two ~ Area rugs ~ LED string lights ~ Lantern ~ Board Games ~ Small Mirror ~ Phone Charging Pack ~ Small Rechargeable Fan (June-August) ~ First Aid Kit ~ Hand Sanitizer ~ Combination Lock ~ Local Guide Book ~ Guest Book ~ Private Fire pit with grill top ~ Private shaded picnic table ~ 2 private shaded hammocks ~ Cooler. BRING ICE, we do not sell ice. ~Propane Heater. Bring 1lb propane tank or we sell them here. (1 tank lasts approx 2 hrs on high, 5 hrs on low. These won't heat the space like at home but helps to take the chill out. ) OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION WEATHER - We are located in Dry Valley. You will not find this on any map or weather app. Monticello, UT is the closest town with weather service and sits at 7000 feet above sea level. Moab, UT is the second town worth looking at, but sits at 4000 feet. The glampground sits at 6000 feet. Typically we are 3-5 degrees warmer than Monticello and 6-10 degrees cooler than Moab. But rules are meant to broken.... WIFI - Strong Wifi is available around the communal spaces and office. Wifi will reach The Pod, Mountain Bell Tent and Mesa Bell Tent only. Wifi is strongest around the parking lot, bathrooms and kitchen. We do not have outlets to power laptops and you will be using the picnic tables as work spaces. If you would like to use the Wifi, please ask us for the password when you arrive. SAUNA – 1 hour Complementary session each night of your stay. Five, 1 hour time slots are available. Link to sign up will be sent 5 days prior to arrival. WATER - Please bring your own drinking water. We do have water at the glampsite but this is water to run the bathroom and kitchen. We do not have unlimited water and haul 400 gallons of water at a time so we ask everyone is water smart. FIRES - The only fires allowed on the glampsite are campfires. No smoking of any kind allowed. However, we do allow smoking in the parking lot or in your vehicle. Butts must be completely out and not left on the ground. If seen, you will be asked to put it out and penalties will apply. CANDLES - Candles are strictly prohibited in the tents. We provide LED candles and string lights to provide the same coziness while keeping safety and odor in mind. *If there is a county fire band, no fires will be allowed. You may reach out to ask if there is one. PETS – No pets allowed in any of our tents. Our new Sugarloaf Pod does allow for up to 2 dogs. HEATING/COOLING – Each tent has a small portable heater but you will need to bring 1lb propane tanks. We do sell them if you do not bring any with you. 1 tank lasts 2 hours on high or 5 hours on low. There is no AC but we do provide small fans in the summer (June-Aug). COMPLEMENTARY COFFEE/TEA DELIVERY – Curve Coffee Roasters in Moab are the beans we use to brew your morning coffee. A french press is left at your door around 7am daily. Tea or hot cocoa is available for non-coffee drinkers. BREAKFAST& ALCOHOL – Breakfast and alcohol is available for purchase. LIMITED LIGHTING - To help preserve our night sky, we do not have a lot of lighting around the glampsite. A headlamp or flashlight when first arriving will help find your way. Once here, there is a lantern inside your tent. QUIET HOURS - 10:00pm - 6:00am. ANIMALS – We have 2 dogs (Crow and Raven) and free-range chickens and a rooster. They may come greet you or follow you to your accommodation. WALKING PATH - We have 22 acres and 1/2 of the property is untouched. Unless we have a private event, which will be posted on the information board by the parking lot, feel free to walk the path and explore. Please do your best to walk only on established pathways. When up at the top of our hill amongst the sage brush you are fine to walk off path. Easy and 1/4 mile. TOURS/ACTIVITIES – We are always on the lookout for local activities and tours. Please find our current offerings on our website or on our tour board upon arrival. TUBES – These are available June-Aug. There are 3 lakes in the Abajo Mountains and 1 large Reservoir in Blanding, all within a 30 min drive. Tubes are available at no cost. SUNDAY MORNING YOGA - Starting September, free yoga classes. ASTRONOMY TOUR - Twice a month we have astronomy tours on site for $30.00. In 2024, this will be free. You may ask us when the tours are scheduled. BICYCLE RENTALS - Coming soon. SUGGESTED PACKING ITEMS – Slippers, warm socks and beanies as desert nights are chilly. Check our Visitor Guide on our website for more suggestions. Stargazing - Bring a telescope if you have one as the night sky is one of the best features of this property! No obstructions so you will have clear views of the brilliant sky. We recommend downloading The SkyView Lite app and The Moon app. This will help you determine a full night of stars or the moon cycle (weather permitting). There is usually highway noise but around 11pm, it slows down. THINGS TO DO ON PROPERTY: Lay in the hammocks, take a sauna, morning yoga class, astronomy tour, nature walk, stargaze, play board games, grill. THINGS TO DO NEARBY: Visit the nearby lakes and reservoirs (borrow our tubes), fish, mountain bike (rentals coming soon), scenic drive, hiking, many local tours. We are Keshia and Erik and we own Glamping Canyonlands. We live and run our business here so you will see us delivering coffee, cleaning, building or relaxing here. Our place is rustic and simple at the moment. We are a new business opened October 2020) and as we grow, we will be improving. We will always be working on the property to improve your experience.
