Woodside Retreat is a truly special 4 acre historic estate that is new to the short-term rental market. The property is truly one of kind, blending a history that dates back to 1861 with modern touches and amenities. This Indiana farmhouse, with ties to the Underground Railroad, has been thoughtfully furnished with comfort and heritage in mind. Imagine making memories with family, colleagues, or friends with an entertainment barn, in-ground pool/deck, pergola, fire pit, & beautiful open space. Guests are given access to all areas of the home except the locked off sections of the barn and the basement of the home for safety reasons. We believe you will want to enjoy your stay with as little interruption as possible. Property managers/owners will be available in case of a problem. Additionally, due to the nature of the property, there will be lawn care, pool care, and other matters that may need to be tended to during your stay by the property managers and owners. Enjoy the best of both worlds with a country estate in the middle of everything. Enjoy quick access to Carmel and Indianapolis right off of State Road 31. Everything you need is within a few minutes drive from hospitals, grocery stores, restaurants, movie theater, miniature golf, and the popular Grand Park Sports Complex. This home is a short walk by paved city trail to Cool Creek Park, the bustling Park Street dining scene, and the soon to open Grand Junction Plaza. The trail in front of the property leads you to the other connecting trails like the Monon and Midland Trace Trail for a run, bike ride, or walk. The property has parking for multiple vehicles. We recommend that you do not back out of the driveway from the garage. With an original stone wall and a brick column, your vehicle will probably end up being the loser in that scenario. Please leave the garage/driveway area with the front of your vehicle. This property is positioned for very quick access on and off SR 31. Although there isn't public transportation, the Uber and Lyft business is active in the area. With an extensive trail network accessible directly in front of the house, walking and biking are great sources of transportation as well. Access in and out of the home will be through a coded electronic door lock. The estate includes a finished barn for gathering and includes games like air hockey, skeeball, and ping pong. Please note that the barn is NOT centrally heated or cooled. In the cooler months, there are commercial grade propane heaters that heat well until about 25 degrees. Below that temperature, the heaters aren't able to sufficiently heat the space. Barn heaters are only to be utilized actively using the space. Otherwise, the heat in home could be affected and additional charges could be applied. There is also a heated in-ground pool (seasonal) with a sizable pool deck and pergola and another pergola between the home and the pool.
