Welcome to Hearth & Hobbit, Columbia's most beloved home! Originally built in the late 1800s as a two room cabin, this historic cottage is known locally by many names such as the Gingerbread House, Hansel & Gretel House, or the Elf House. You will love this whimsical and cozy home full of historic details. Located less than one mile from Columbia's downtown district and Mizzou. **All guests must acknowledge/accept the rental agreement prior to booking. This is in the "House Rules" section** The space Features and attributes of the cottage include: -Columbia Historic Preservation Commission Most Notable Homes -Master bedroom was originally created as an in-home preschool that served girls during World War II. The school bell still resides on property! -Large sunroom boasts 10 foot farmhouse table for meals, games, and more! You will enjoy the multitude of live plants in this room, as well as the provided family games. -Living room features hearth and cookware original to the home. Please note, the fireplace is not functional. We do have an outdoor fire pit if you’d like to enjoy a fire. We don’t supply wood so guests should bring or purchase their own if interested! -Modern amenities such as wifi on-site, two smart TVs include netflix available -Washer + Dryer available for guest usage -Parking is available for up to 2 vehicles. Please message host for arrangements for additional vehicles. -Please make sure to review details of the house before booking. Only one bathroom has a shower (the other is a bathtub only) and the bed sizes are full, full, and queen.
