It's perfectly tucked away - a remote nature getaway only a few minutes from restaurants, groceries, universities, and all the conveniences of Lynchburg city. Large windows pull the beauty of the outdoors in year round. This listing is for the entire 4400 sq. ft main farmhouse. We also have two additional apartments that sleep 4 each. We encourage our guests to walk around the farm which is 150 ft from the suite. Relax, be still and enjoy the sights, sounds and vistas. Fish in the pond. Grab a life jacket and use our canoe. Have a glass of wine at sunset. Let our gardens be a respite from your busyness. This custom built farmhouse is our personal residence. Nature abounds all around it, with a huge backyard, pollinator gardens and a front-yard cottage garden. The house and grounds were carefully designed and built over a period of 30 years. They've been lovingly furnished, decorated and planted. You may enter either through the front door, or through a side entrance, each with a smart lock and personalized code. Here's what you can expect to find in the Irvington Spring Farm House: MAIN HOUSE: A huge gourmet kitchen/living room is at the center of an open floorplan overflowing with natural light and nature views. The kitchen has commercial grade appliances, leatherized granite countertops, and a large island. Step down from the kitchen to a sunny breakfast room. The dining room features a custom-made table that seats 14. Two inviting living areas with TV's increase the possibilities for gathering: one living area just steps off the kitchen has a fireplace made of historic cobblestones. Upstairs, the master bedroom w/ queen bed and master bath is on one side, and three additional bedrooms on the other. The three bedrooms share a full bathroom with a jacuzzi-type tub & shower. Five skylights let the sun in through the gambrel roof. SUNFLOWER SUITE: The spacious second living area is part of a 2 story wing off the kitchen we refer to as the Sunflower Suite. The large open downstairs room of the suite includes a smart TV, couches, a kids' corner filled with toys and games and desk/work area. Up to 4 can sleep in this room (sleeper sofa + futon). This room opens up through 3 different doors onto the beautiful back deck and yard, with an outdoor ping pong table, gas grill, and swings. Upstairs in the Sunflower Suite is a private bedroom area away from the other 4 bedrooms. It offers a king bed, a queen bed, dresser & closet for hanging and storing clothes. A unique chair has the option to fold down into a small child-size bed for little ones. There is a full bathroom with tub/shower combo as well as a kitchenette/dining area with fridge, dishware, coffee pot, and convection microwave. SAUNA: in the woods just next to the backyard is a 6-person sauna. Guests can use it by scheduling a reservation. EXTERIOR: The shaded front porch is a wonderful place to sit and let the world go by. At the back of the house, the breakfast room and sunflower suite open out into the backyard. Our pergola was custom-made of large cedar trees harvested on the farm. Roses and clematis cover it completely. The fire pit (weather conditions permitting) warms things up on cool evenings. COTTAGE GARDEN: at the front of the house is a garden perfect for relaxation, reading, or an afternoon glass of wine. In the garden is a deck with a table, chairs and a large umbrella. PARKING: We have parking for up to 6 cars in the cul-de-sac at the end of our driveway. An overflow parking lot above the cottage garden accommodates another 8-10 cars. ABOUT THE FARM... Irvington Spring Farm has been a family-owned working flower farm for the past 28 years. You'll find something new in the gardens or high tunnels each month... different things blooming, new things we’re working on, the inevitable change of nature and the seasons. We’re doing what we enjoy most - growing and selling flowers. Planting, weeding, cutting, and visiting with our guests bring us the greatest satisfaction. While we only have blooming flowers from early March to late October, we're busy with farm chores year-round. If you enjoy gardening, you can see how it all gets done and possibly take new gardening ideas home, regardless of when you visit. If you'd like, you are welcome to buy flowers by the bunch or bucket from the farm's cooler by picking out what you would like, and leaving your money or check in the basket on the shelf near the door. During the height of the season, you may cut your own bouquet from the Cottage Garden. If you plan to make use of the pond at the farm by fishing (bring your own rod for this), swimming, or using the canoe and life jackets, you will to sign a waiver form. Just let us know when you make your reservation and our co-hosts will send that to you via email. ACTIVITIES NEARBY... There are so many reasons to visit Lynchburg!
