Our cozy three bedroom, two bathroom riverside cottage comfortably sleeps 6-8 adults, and includes a 3 sided fireplace, beautiful kitchen, and multiple seating areas both indoors and outdoors. Beautiful Scandinavian, rustic/modern decor including a hanging rope bed. Outdoor pavilion and spacious backyard in a quiet neighborhood make this the perfect getaway! Quiet location, riverfront 2 acre property, spacious backyard with a variety of trees, birds, and wildlife. We are 5 minutes away from downtown Lancaster, where you can find unique coffee shops and the oldest indoor farmers market in the country, Central Market. We are 10-15 min away from many popular local destinations, such as shopping outlets, Sight and Sound Theater, American Music Theater, the Fulton Opera House, and Spooky Nook Sports. Also nearby you'll find beautiful Amish farms and quaint little towns, such as Bird in Hand and Intercourse. The entire house is newly updated with a simple, rustic feel, featuring a new kitchen with farmhouse table, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and coffeemaker. Bedroom 1 offers a hanging rope bed, in a queen size mattress, for an experience you will remember . Bedroom 2 is equally comfortable with a plush queen size bed. Both bedrooms on the main floor have ample closet space, wall mirrors, and reading chairs. The bathroom is completely updated with an Amish made vanity and other unique features. Bedroom 3 is in the basement with its own private bathroom, and features a twin over full bunk bed, as well as a futon. Guests have access to the outdoor pavilion, as well as a back patio overlooking the river. We also offer the use of our canoes to explore the Conestoga River in the backyard of the River Nook. Guests also have access to our private family pool next door. Our kids use the pool frequently, but we try to give our guests priority access with prior arrangements. A simple text or message with days or times you would like to access the pool is all that is required. Please bring your own pool towels, if you plan to use the pool. We live next door and enjoy interaction as much as our busy lifestyle allows. Guests will have a pre-programmed code which will allow entrance to the front door. We live in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. It is a low traffic area, making it ideal for biking, running, and walking. The nearest bus stop is a 15 minute walk. Uber and Lyft are accessible from our house. Central Market is the oldest indoor market in the country, and is a must see. We recommend going early morning on one of the three days it is open: Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday. On the first Friday of every month, Lancaster hosts "First Friday" events, which includes art galleries, live music, and many shops staying open later than usual. A non-profit organization, Music For Everyone, has placed pianos around the city, and they encourage you to take a seat and play to your heart's content! Lancaster and the surrounding countryside has a wonderful selection of local, farm to table restaurants, and many wonderful activities for families. We will have local guide books and recommendations for you if you need something to do. Besides all the amazing local towns, like Bird in Hand, Intercourse, and Paradise, which have beautiful Amish farms, you will be about an hour from places such as Harrisburg, Gettysburg, Hershey, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. The kitchen is fully equipped with basics, including spices,coffee, tea, bottled water, as well as appliances such as a dishwasher, microwave, oven, and refrigerator. Washer and dryer is available for guests to use. We do not have cable TV, but guests will be able to connect to Netflix or other apps through a wifi connection, using our Roku TV. We have an HDMI cable, if you want to connect a DVD player or laptop.
