Cross the street and climb to the top of Jockey Ridge for amazing ocean views, hang glide or fly a kite. The ocean is just 1 minute car drive. Inside features 700 sq ft of privacy, including open-concept kitchen and living room, a private bedroom with 2 queen beds, and 2 Smart TVs. The space Tucked away on a quiet half-acre in the heart of the Outer Banks, this peaceful retreat feels like your own private escape among the trees. Wake up to birdsong in the morning, spend your days exploring, and end the evening under some of the brightest starlit skies you’ll ever see. Perfectly located in a calm, central neighborhood with no immediate neighbors to the north or south, you’re just minutes from everything—restaurants, shops, and fast-casual dining are only a 2–3 minute drive away. Even better, the sound and sand dunes are practically at your doorstep. Step outside and you’re only a short 3-minute stroll to the sound, where you can watch the sun melt into the water and sky over Jockey’s Ridge. Or relax on the covered front porch in one of the rockers with a drink in hand as the dunes glow in the evening light. Guests also have access to a shared hot tub in the evenings—perfect for winding down under the stars. Inside, the home is designed for comfort and ease. The open-concept living area includes a Smart TV and a full kitchen with bar seating that flows right onto the porch for effortless indoor-outdoor living. The private bedroom features two brand-new therapeutic queen mattresses with hypoallergenic bedding, plus ample storage with two closets. The bathroom includes a shower and all the essentials you’ll need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully stocked for longer stays or easy nights in—full-size fridge with ice maker, gas stove and oven, microwave, toaster, Keurig and drip coffee maker (coffee, K-cups, and tea provided), blender, cookware, dishes, glassware, and utensils. You’ll also find beach towels, bath towels, linens, and basic supplies included so you can pack light. For beach days and exploring, we’ve provided thoughtful extras: beach chairs, umbrella, wagon for gear or little ones, and two adult beach cruiser bikes. Entertainment is covered too, with two Smart TVs (stream your own Netflix, Hulu, etc.), a DVD player with movies, board games, and cards for relaxed nights in. Outside, enjoy additional shaded seating, a gas grill, and a secure tie-out for dogs—this space is truly kid- and pet-friendly. Location is one of the best parts of staying here. Jockey’s Ridge State Park is directly across the street, and the ocean is just a 1-minute drive away. You can walk to local favorites like Mulligan’s Grill, Blue Moon Beach Grill, and Nags Head Pizza Company, or bike to grocery stores, Duck Donuts, and more. Nearby highlights include the Wright Brothers Memorial and Bodie Island Lighthouse (about 15 minutes away), plus easy day trips to Duck, Corolla, Ocracoke, and Hatteras. Closest sound access: Jockey Ridge Sound Access (about a 2–3 minute walk), ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding, kids, and dogs in calm shallow water with convenient parking and amenities. Closest ocean access: Conch Street Beach Access (about 1 mile), offering easy parking, boardwalk access, and great surf, boogie boarding, or relaxing beach days. Guest access Entire apartment, front porch balcony (where the rockers are), outdoor sitting patio area with gas grill (and dog stake), and designated parking space. Do note: The fenced in backyard is for the homeowner’s small children and dogs. Not for guests use. Hot Tub (Use & Privacy) The hot tub is located in the homeowner's backyard and is a shared amenity. During the day, the backyard is also used by the homeowner's family. For this reason, hot tub access for guests is available from dusk until midnight (October through June), helping to provide a more private and relaxing experience. Other things to note Noise: Even though there is a family next door, most times guests never hear the family and family never hears the guests (even barking dogs). Please note this is a family friendly home and we have three girls under the age of 9 that live next door, including a toddler that likes to run and an infant's primary communication at the moment is loud shrieking sounds. The walls are insulated and we have extra sound proof tools in place to minimize any noise to our guests and for our guests to feel at ease knowing we can't hear their sounds. We will do our best to keep the noise level to a minimum, please contact us if it is ever a problem. Outdoor Items: Outside at the bottom of the stairs, you will find an outdoor storage box. You will have access to umbrella, 5 beach chairs, boogie boards, volleyball, kids fishing net, and outdoor transport wagon (for items or little ones) to save on time and rental fees. We kindly ask that you return any items used back to the storage box for the next guest. Hot Tub (Use & Privacy) The hot tub is located in the homeowner's backyard and is a shared amenity. During the day, the backyard is also used by the homeowner's family. For this reason, hot tub access for guests is available from dusk until midnight (October through June), helping to provide a more private and relaxing experience.
