STAY IN AN OLD MAINE HOME!! Welcome to the Big Red House, located in the Whitney Park Historic District in Bangor! Built c. 1869, the BRH is one of the Queen City’s oldest homes - once the residence of sea captains and other interesting people of the past. Come stay & enjoy our gift of cider for choosing the BRH! The space This gorgeous 2600 sf. house has 3 bedrooms and a 4th bed in the downstairs second living room; Orion’s Garden and Rue du Soleil with queen beds, the Cambria Room with a twin, and the front living room with a twin daybed. The BRH sleeps 6 people comfortably, however if you want to bring more friends/family they are more than welcome. There are 2 full bathrooms with claw foot tubs; 1 with shower. The living room and office, or second living room, are adjoining with French doors. Enjoy a huge eat-in kitchen with window seats and an arched pass-through, a big walk-in closet, 21 tall windows, tin and pine ceilings, wood flooring and Italian tile. Cozy up in the conversational love seat and chair and fire up the parlor pellet stove for those chilly fall and winter nights. Second living room has a large office desk, chess table, and game-filled cabinet. Enjoy the backyard deck, and private driveway long enough for three cars. Park your car in the garage to get out of the snow, if you like. Wi-Fi, Roku TV and DVD player. Plenty of movies to watch. The Big Red House is close to the Hannibal Hamlin House, (Hamlin was US Vice President to Abraham Lincoln). We are also near the home of Author Stephen King, and the downtown area, where you'll find live theatre, art galleries, museums, shops, boutique restaurants, night life, the Penobscot River, and concerts on the famous Bangor Waterfront. The yummy rhubarb growing in the side garden is yours to pick for pie-making, too.
