Welcome to our Cozy Cabin! This cabin was built in the 1950s and is ideal for a couple or solo traveler looking to get away, while still being close to town. Located on a unique property with a pine tree forest, this cabin feels like you are up in the mountains, but really you are only about a mile out of town. Adding to the rural feel, this cabin is located off a dirt road that's easily passable in a standard car. - AC & Heat - Pet Friendly - Kitchenette - Small Fridge & Freezer - Queen Bed The space An Oasis in the upper desert, our property, Stoney Pines, is a small pine tree forest surrounded by typical desert landscape. We have been lucky because these trees provide an great forest feel, while still being close to town. When you arrive you will find that this cabin has a covered front porch where we have provided some chairs for sitting. You can have your coffee out here or just sit and enjoy the surrounding trees and grey squirrels. Once inside you will see a chair and small table, a Queen bed with 2 bedside tables and the kitchenette. The bathroom, considered large for a small cabin, is just next to the bed. This cabin has a window AC/heater that efficiently cools the cabin in summer and heats the cabin in winter. There is also a pot belly stove for your use as well. This cabin sits on 4 acres of upper desert property that boasts a large array of different types of pine trees. You are welcome to walk through our forest, but please be aware of possible sap. There is a large BBQ area that is close to the Red Cabin and is accessible by all guests. If using this space please be courteous to other guests by not leaving a mess. The roads to this cabin are dirt, as are most roads in this area, but are easy to drive down. I also include directions in the check in instructions on the best way to get to the cabin. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire property except the pump houses and our shed. The neighborhood is all dirt roads, but pretty easy to traverse. You will need a car to get around town as this is a rural area and there is no public transportation by the property. Other things to note As this is a pet friendly property, there is a $45 pet fee per stay. Due to our pine tree forest sap is a concern. Should you decide to walk around and enjoy the property, please look at your shoes before entering the cabin. Should you get sap on yourself or your pet an effective way to get it off is using olive oil. It is very rare, but on occasion the power can go out at this property. As this is a rural area sometimes the power company turns off the power for safety reasons or for updating their equipment. We do our best to keep guests updated on these situations, but we also ask for your understanding while we work through any issues if they come up. We ask that you do not put tents up on the property without asking beforehand. There is a large BBQ area that is a shared space between our Green and Red Cabin. We ask that you be courteous to other guests and not leave a mess nor be to loud. Although close to town, this property is in a rural area so on occasion small bugs do get in the houses including spiders. We make a concerted effort to keep all critters out of the houses, by spraying and having each house checked before check in, but on occasion some critters make their way in. Also, due to the rural are we do get the occasional wildlife. There have been sightings of coyotes and bears, so if you are moving around at night just be aware of your surroundings. I am shocked that I have to include this, but please do not damage any of our pine tree forest. Should damage be found please report immediately. If it is found that you have damaged one of our trees (example: hit, shot, peeled bark or an attempted cut or chop) you will be charged a minimum of $300 for the damage.
