Appalachian trail is minutes up the road..East Tenn. State University and Milligan college are within a short driving distance..LOCATION! You will have complete privacy at Misty Waters Getaway. The Watauga River is at your fingertips and Watauga Lake is just up the road! Lots of options for outdoor activities , hiking the Appalachian Trail, swimming in the pristine Watauga Lake that just comes out of the mountains, bike riding to the lake and then picnic with gorgeous views. We are close for families to visit their college students from ETSU and Milligan College. Cram for the final exams in peace and quiet or inspiration to write that novel. The area offers many white water rafting companies as well as local fishing guide services. There are many locations to put on your waders and go fish in the river..or fish from a chair and take it lazy!! . Elizabethton is just a few miles and offers a great coffee shop, restaurants, little antique shops and and a beautiful historical covered bridge. HIKE, BIKE, BOAT, SWIM , RELAX, eat ,sleep , repeat..!! My driveway is large enough to accomodate a boat. Please be advised because of the busy lake road,,, I Do Not Allow small children .. I am so sorry,, I Love small children.... and want them to be safe... Animal allergies are a real thing,,, and because of pet allergies, My home is Not Pet Friendly,, I am so very sorry. I try to respond quickly You will probably be greeted by my neighbors 2 beautiful rescues pups. They will say hey and go on with their day and they go to bed very early. Of course they are in their fence. The home is cozy and relaxing. On a clear night, the most beautiful star show arrives right from your front porch. Come and watch the river flowing, the beautiful birds, fish jumping, and all of nature come alive. Bring your bike, motorcycle, boat, paddle board, hip waders and fishing poles. Kayak, pontoon, float, hiking shoes, and your raft..Bring it all. Bring a book, movies and your phone and chill. It's all yours! Please no cooking or bringing fish in my home. NO MUD IN THE HOUSE PLEASE. STOP at the grocery store and get your supplies because you .may not want to leave once you get there. There is coffee, salt and pepper and all your cooking essentials. Please when leaving, wash your own dishes, take out your garbage, and place your linens in the laundry room. I appreciate your kind consideration. Angela
