Imagine sipping a glass of wine while sitting on your private deck listening to birds singing in the trees and watching the sun set over the bay. Imagine enjoying a long soak in the hot tub while watching the city lights dance in the sky. Imagine enjoying a home in the beautiful and serene North Berkekey Hills and yet still being walking distance to endless shops, restaurants, parks and the UC Campus. Imagine being so close to everything and yet feeling a million miles away from the noisy hustle and bustle of the city. This lovely home was built by a renewed 1960's post-war architect who was known for his inventive and eccentric touches to the homes he designed. Many original details abound in this Mid-Century gem. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room and bedrooms fill these rooms with bright sunshine and open the rooms to lovely views of the bay. The garden view out the living room window looks like a painting come to life. The large windows infuse the home with light and views from every direction. The hardwood floors gleam and the cool 1960's wet bar beckons you to make an evening cocktail. The gas fireplace will keep you warm on those foggy days. Our lovely space features: -Comfortable furnishings, mattresses and linens. -Beautiful bay views from the deck, living room an bedrooms. -A fenced yard with a 700+sq/ft deck, a flower garden and filtered bay views. Outdoor couches make this area superb for lounging. Enjoy your morning coffee on the sunny deck while watching the local family of deer trotting down the road. String lights bring a warm ambiance to the evening for outdoor lounging on the deck. Fully fenced for your furry friends! -A HOT TUB with Bay Views! - A sunny and bright living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors, a cozy gas fireplace, views of the bay, treetops and the flower garden. Decorated in typical mid-century modern decor. -Pull out comfy Queen sofa bed in the living room. -A dining room with hardwood floors, patio doors opening up onto the outdoor deck and cool 1960's wet bar. Dining room table seating for 6. -A gourmet kitchen with a double oven, a gas range, a dishwasher, chopping block and a fully stocked kitchen awaiting your gourmet meals. Pots, pans, serving dishes, coffee pot, blender, microwave and more! Enjoy a visit to one of the many local farmers markets and then cook up a gourmet meal in our kitchen. - Two huge and sunny upstairs bedrooms with wall-to-ceiling windows and bay views. Bedrooms have luxurious king beds with new mattresses and memory foam pillow tops. New bedding and furniture. Sleep soundly for hours in these dreamy beds. Rooms also have 2 closets and dresser space. One bedroom has a desk in case you need to work on your vacation. -One smaller, detached bedroom with a twin day bed that pulls out to a king sized bed or 2 twins. PLEASE NOTE! This space is detached from the main inner living space. You must walk outside and up some stairs to access the main house, including the bathroom. It is not appropriate for young children or adults not comfortable with walking outside and up some stairs to access the main house. This room has a new bed and mattresses and an electric fireplace for a cozy nights sleep. - A large main bathroom with tile shower and bathtub. -A tiled half bath with toilet and sink. -Ample parking in the driveway (2-3 cars) and ample non-permitted parking on the street. You won't be stressed about parking at our home! -Washer and Dryer -Walk to several nice parks, the Rose Gardens, the UC campus and many upscale restaurants, cafes and shops. Walking distance to the Gourmet Ghetto! Walk to bus lines and bike ride to BART. Short drive to Tilden Park and downtown Berkeley. We're sure you will enjoy this unique and lovely space and will love to call it home during your stay in the Bay Area! PLEASE NOTE: We ARE pet friendly! But we charge an extra non-refundable $75 cleaning fee for pets per pet. This fee is per booking UNLESS your booking is longer than 1 week. Then the fee is $75 per pet per week. Please let me know you are traveling with pets (how many and which types) and I will charge you the pet fee manually. Thanks! PLEASE NOTE: There are additional studio units in the home that are attached to the home but not included with the listing. These units have separate entrances and living areas and will not interfere with your privacy. You can rent in addition to the home if you need more space. PLEASE NOTE: Large gatherings and parties are NOT allowed in this home. This is a quiet area of Berkeley and our neighbors enjoy this area because of its peacefulness. We ask that you respect our neighborhood and neighbors and use and enjoy the home quietly and without large or loud gatherings of people. And please respect the quiet hours noted in the house manual and posted in the home. Thanks in advance! Guest access The main house and yard and the driveway are private for your unit. Other things to note The main house is up a flight of stairs. Not suitable for wheelchairs or people with mobility issues. There is a $75 pet fee per pet per reservation for up to 1 week. If you stay is longer than 1 week then the pet fee is $75 per week. Please let me know if you are traveling with pets. There are two in law units attached to the home. One is below the home and one is attached to the side of the home. PLEASE NOTE: We highly recommended that guests get trip insurance for their trip. We do not give refunds for weather-related cancellations or illness/ injury related cancellations unless they fall without the cancellation timelines. We DO NOT give refunds due to the Coronavirus. Trip insurance is available via many providers for little money. I recommend looking at the Squarmouth website for trip insurance providers.
