Please follow these rules to ensure safety for all… * They hibernate in the winter months – but can be seen in any season. Close all doors in the evenings and when you leave. * Do not leave ANY food outside, on the porch or in your car – bring it ALL inside. * They are beautiful but from a distance – do not get to close when there is not a window or wall separating you. Be alert (they call this Bear Aware) they can be around a corner! Amenities: Make yourselves at home – and feel free to use the electronics, snow shoes, beach chairs, bikes in summer, telescope, BBQ, etc. We just ask that you care for them as you would your own and do not leave the telescope outside and return the chairs and snowshoes to the Storage bin on the deck. There is also an extra propane tank in the bin – in case you run out. If so – please leave the used tank out of the storage bin on the deck so we know to refill it. Garbage: If you have more garbage than your large kitchen bin holds during your stay, you can take out the trash. Our area (Summit Village) has a dumpster located down the street in an area about 250 yards from our home. Please do not leave garbage outside the unit anywhere; Bears and other wildlife will find it! PETS: * This is a dog-friendly house, but pets need to be cleared BEFORE BOOKING. NO pet fee. Max 2. YOU MUST let us know in advance if you plan on bringing yours. Only house-broken, well behaved pets and owners allowed. Dogs must be walked OFF PROPERTY. We as that you DO NOT let your pets relieve themselves on our walkways or deck. Ever. You must walk your pet and pick up after them. There are pet bags located by the Summit Village office about 25 yards down the road, west, toward the lake. Please pick up after your pets! Additional cleaning fees will be charged if there is pet waste or damage. We love well behaved pets and owners; but not everyone else does. We ask that you do not allow your pets on the furniture. You MUST tell us about pets in advance or when you book, so we can share rules and let our team know. Longer Stay Requests: We are happy to accommodate longer stays. Any stay over 20 days will have housekeeping added to it for mid-stay cleans and trash. Any stays over 5 days we ask that you remove the trash to a nearby dumpster as needed. Thank you. Altitude: Our home is about 8200 ft. Altitude sickness can make you feel dizzy or “off” or even be more serious. Don’t over-do it if you are not used to the altitude and stay hydrated! The Unit does not have a land line in it. Parking: Park directly in front of the unit (either side of the street). It is first come first served and we have never not had a space available. Winter / Winter Weather: Be careful! * It can be icy everywhere – steps and the driveway * The snow is removed from the walkway between rentals. If you encounter snow – the shovel for the deck is on the porch! Go to it and enjoy the experience! It is part of a Tahoe vacation! Also - we have a service * We heat our home with our fireplace – help yourself. Wood is on the back deck if not right next to the fireplace. * Extra blankets and throws are in the closet, on the beds and/or in the storage furniture. Try the silver night stand upstairs, too. * It can be exceptionally snowy / stormy in winter. We have seen the power go off a few times this year due to large accidents or area outages from 30 minutes to several hours. There is a flashlight by the front door. The fireplace heats the entire home and there are plenty of blankets! We say enjoy the quiet, play a game or make a puzzle and revel in the romanticism of it! Our Green Efforts: • Products and Offerings: We lead the way in using dispensers for shampoo, soap, lotion, among other amenity items. We pride ourselves in the products we use, too. They are all good for you and good for the earth from organic raw products going into them to bio-degradable packaging and as local as can be creation and transportation . • Energy Efficiency: We have policies and smart home technologies in every home, as we can, to ensure our properties are as efficient as possible. From LED light bulbs and energy efficient appliances to smart locks, lights, and thermostats to “heat on demand” spa and pool heating for just when you want it. We have also invested in insulation and maintenance to ensure heating and cooling are efficient. • Re-use, Reduce, Recycle, Sustainability is forefront in our thoughts and offerings. Cities vary, but where possible, we have recycling and compost bins in addition to trash. We also opt for digital information v. paper whenever possible. No couch sleeping - not a pull out. TOT & City Taxes are added: 14.5% + a $5/night fee. Enjoy!
