Best Little Cabin in Texas

Vrbo

Seclusion in the Lost Pines hosted by Jan

Description

Secluded cabin on 250 acres of private pine forest. Enjoy hiking & views from large deck. Cabin's decor based on local legend & Broadway hit, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, replete with the madam's bed. Fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, & dishwasher. BBQ on the outdoor propane grill and enjoy a campfire under the stars (bring your own firewood). 2 miles off highway. Pets OK with a $30 per pet fee. Up to three. Please let us know if you’ll be bringing yours. The space Our cabin is on property that has been in our family since the early 1800s and guests are encouraged to walk, ride (bring your bike) and enjoy the serenity of the area at their leisure. You’ll find the construction of our cabin comfortable, attractive and interesting. Newly renovated as of January 2019 with updated appliances and vinyl flooring throughout. The cabin's interior walls are of cedar and the exposed rafters add an extra charm. The front and back doors are usually open to enjoy the gentle breeze that blows through the cabin. Guest access Get lost in the forest....you have access to the ranch! Take a hike but beware of poisonous snakes, dangers such as: thorny plants/trees, poison ivy, roots or stumps on trail ways and other tripping hazards, deep ravens and steep inclines. Bring a fishing pole and cast a line in one of the two stock tanks. Photograph whitetail deer or pileated woodpeckers. Read a book in comfy hammock on back deck and plan to stargaze at the black night sky to the sound of howling coyotes. Most importantly, slow down and enjoy nature! Other things to note We are 2 miles off the beaten path (or paved road). You'll travel on a rough, gravel road up to our hilltop hideaway. We recommend a high clearance vehicle and maintaining a speed limit under 15 mph. There are culverts with deep ravines. This is a shared easement. Please be careful of these hazards if yielding right of way. Heavy equipment may be on the roadway. We have cattle. Please keep pets away from cows. Mommas are especially protective and can charge at dogs. The well water can smell and taste like sulfur. It has a lot of iron in it. We recommend bringing your own drinking water and not washing whites or other clothes that could be stained from the iron. Adult supervision of minors is required at all times.
