Cabin on Second Lake

This sweet little modern log cabin is just a short distance from the shores of Second Lake in Willow River, MN! Second Lake Hideaway is located 2 miles off of Interstate I-35! 100 miles North of the Twin cities and 50 miles South of Duluth. This is the perfect place to lose yourself for a week or weekend to find relaxation! The space Second Lake is a 44 acre private (no public access), serene, quiet lake with a spectacular view from anywhere on the lake. The cabin presents 2 bedrooms one with queen bed, one with full size bed. Full kitchen (no dishwasher) and full bath. Extras include free onsite washer and dryer, cable tv, and wireless internet! Enjoy a spacious camp fire area for those chilly, Minnesota nights, and our outdoor hot tub for the even chillier ones! Lake is visible from cabin although there is no lake access or swimming area. Although at the cabin, there is a little trail that leads to a dock... the dock is not practical for use. To access the lake, you would have a short 4 minute walk down a pretty wooded driveway! There you would find paddle boat, canoe and row boat to use. We have four adult size life jackets available. Sorry- we cannot allow pets. Guest access Complimentary Kettle River Pizza included with each stay! Amenities – Hot and cold running well water - the water in this location is naturally very high in iron. Even with the extensive water filtering systems installed in the cabin, the water can (not always) have a iron tinge to it and can (not always) have a sulfur odor. The refrigerator dispenses water (although slowly). Heated cabin Central air Full kitchen (sorry, no dishwasher) Fridge has water and ice dispenser. This water does come out of the dispenser SLOW, but the water is very good! Wi-fi Full bathroom Cable tv in living room and in each bedroom Bedroom with queen size bed Bedroom with full size bed Futon in living room - not the most comfortable to sleep on! Washer and dryer Hot tub - Please note, that there is always the chance that the hot tub may need to be serviced before or on rare occasions, during your stay. It can happen that, after inspecting the hot tub when guests check out, we need to empty it, clean it and then refill before the next guests can enjoy. It could happen that the water may not be up to temp by the time the next guest arrives later that day. This does not happen very often, but the possibility is there. Also, if there are several people staying at the cabin, or if the stay is more than two days, we may need to check the treatment levels during your stay. If so, we try to do it while you are away from the cabin so as to not disturb your time there. If you should notice that the water in the hot tub has turned cloudy at all, please notify us right away and we can remedy:) We do not need to enter the cabin to do any of these tasks. Though these situations may be inconvenient to guests, it is sometimes necessary. Lake - Although you can see the lake...please note that this property does not have direct access to the lake. You will need take a short walk down a wooded drive to access the water. Something for all seasons… Lake fishing, river fishing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, canoeing, running, roller blading, snow boarding, Antique’rs!, walking, bird watching, small game hunting, rifle hunting, bow hunting, muzzle hunting, spear fishing, cross country skiing, ice fishing, biking, camp fire, downhill skiing (two large ski resorts within an hour’s drive) and many miles of four wheel trails. Check out requests include: 1. remove all bed sheets and pillow cases from beds. 2. Make sure that all towels, wash clothes, bed linens, etc. are in the washer before leaving. This will eliminate the need to come in contact with soiled linens/laundry. If there are two loads of laundry, please make sure that the second load is in the washer and that the washer has been started. 2. All dishes should be washed and put away. 3. Please bag up all trash and set in the trash can located in the fish cleaning house. 4. Please do not leave any of your food items behind. 5. When leaving the cabin, leave door UNLOCKED with keys hanging in side. 5. Send us a little message when you have left. Thank you!!!
